My Cyndi Experiences!
August 9, 2001 was the first time I ever got to see Cyndi live.  I made my poor sister, Lindsay, take me to the Indiana State Fairgrounds at about 1:30 and sit in the heat until the concert, which was at about 6.  Cyndi sang, and then I got to meet her.  I had bought her a necklace a few days earlier because I wanted her to know how excited I was to see her. (Ok I know I'm a dork but bare with me!) When I got to meet her I gave her the present.  She loved it (at least she acted like she did!) and put it on right then.  She said it was her first present and thanked me.  She had somebody take our picture and then my sister and I went to leave.  We were waiting behind the stage to catch the shuttle to go to our car, and she was going back to her car to leave.  She stopped again and told me thanks and that she loved it.  She said she was going to show it to everybody and waved as she pulled out.  She even told one of the radio people behind the stage about the necklace and she waved again.  :-)  From then on, obviously, I was hooked.  She was the sweetest artist I had ever met, and, to this day, she still is.
Then on September 9, 2001 I went with my friends, Rachel and Mike, to South Bend, IN to see Cyndi at a music festival there.  We got up at about 4 in the morning to get there on time.  We got there, and I got to see her sing, and right after that she ran over to a booth to sign for about 15 minutes.  I had my scrapbook there, and I was just going to say "Hey I'm Lacey I saw you last month"...but as soon as I got there she said, "You're Lacey aren't you?"  It was a complete shock that she remembered me at all- not to mention my name.  Then I just said I have a scrapbook, but I know you have to go soon.  She asked, "Do you want to go on the bus so I can look at it?"  I thought...YES of course I do!!  She let me sit behind her until she was done signing and then we went on her bus.  She got me a water and some food (twizlers and cookies) :-) She looked through the book and introduced me to her band. Then, I got a tour of the bus, and we had some funny pictures taken.  She was the best to a little dork like me.  I have no idea why she remembered me or why she let me hang out on the bus, but it was definitely a GREAT time!!!
Then on October 13, 2001 my dad took me, my sister, and a few of my friends (Lindsey, Krista, Rachel, and Mike) to Grand Rapids, MI to see Cyndi, Rascal Flatts, and Jo Dee Messina.  I got there and was talking to a CMT guy, and he said he wanted to do a story on me and Cyndi.  He gave me his card and told me to email him my stories and pictures.  Then I met Cyndi's aunt and cousin.  I told them about the bus and everything.  I saw them later and asked if they'd give Cyndi my birthday present and card.  They were wonderful!  They said they had an extra pass backstage and if they could find me after they got it, they'd take me with them to meet her.  Unfortunately, they couldn't find me, but Cyndi said that they looked so they could bring me back.  I just thought it was cool that they asked, and it was so sweet that they were going to take me back with the family. :-)
On December 6, 2001 Cyndi was on CRL on GAC.  I had emailed them all week so that I'd get to talk to her and request the "I Always Liked That Best" video.  I was at work and my sister called and said, "CRL called and they want you to call back if you want to talk to Cyndi".  I called and they said they'd call back later so I could talk to her live!  They called me at work, and I went into the back room and talked to her.  She said she missed me, she loved her present, told Dallas-the host- about the necklace, and said they tried to find me to get me backstage.  She also said thanks for her letter, she had it sitting on her table, and she was going to write me a thank you note.  She is the best (I know I keep saying that, but it's the truth!)
