We'd been in Citronelle for a long time. We had stood and listened to the nice lady give us the royal tour. We'd tried to fix her air conditioning  We had visited the "signing" site and we had dragged the town.
It was time to get to the boonies.

Doc performed the perfect transition. After passing the Lawnmower Racing Grounds, it identifying our presence as "in the boonies", it was dirt time. More cool, tree covered lanes. and then,
The Escatawpa River Bridge
I approached it, looking both ways, and crossed riding the right hand track. I felt like I was crossing on a tightrope. Doc had done it on a rainy muddy day.
The sad part is that it's time is limited, real limited. Go soon.
Doc exited the bridge, pulled the front end up in a celebration wheelie, riding past with arms extended, standing on the seat.
Show off.
And, there he goes.
Someone had to stick around and document this thing.
So, here was a brand new bridge replacing a perfectly good historical bridge connecting two roads that look like this. I say that new bridge is out of place. I am supporting the sign which says "END ROAD WORK".  There certainly was a "perfect transition"  between "road work" and "un-road work".
