These are barns seen along the way. I take pictures of barns, obviously. They were a very important part of the small farm. No farm could exist without one. Unfortunately they are following the fate of the small farmer. They disappear quickly. Some are taken down for the cypress which was a favorite construction lumber. Many old houses encouter the same fate. History is lost. Family heritage is gone. It is a sad thing.
Some are huge to house huge things or lots of stuff. This one is near the intersection of 104 and 29, close to the old store where I talked to the friendly fella.
This one is off Bayou Des Cannes Road. The crawfish pond was on the opposiet side of the road. I don't want you to be lost.
To the right is where I shot all the rice harvesting pictures, I'm headed to Chataignier. Spelled right?
That tree line is Bayou Des Cannes. Oh, boy, I get to cross it again.
