See the banked curves. Finally I can make my point about the road with visual proff. I had to stop again. The sign called me. This outing was taken last year I think, no date on the pictures. It is a part of the 104/95 experience so I'm including it here. I know this one is getting long so I'll be brief.
I went down the road.
I saw the bayou. It is Bayou Marron. The road is Parish Road 1-22. It needs work.
I'm calling the Parish Barn and see if they can get a crew out here. This is disgraceful.
Bayou Marron on the way to meet Bayou Des Cannes. Bayou Marron is spawned from Bayou Aux Pailles if you are keeping score.
I crossed the bridge and shot this shot from over there or over here. The parish has pilled up some sand to prevent crossing the "bridge". Didn't stop me.
I took the hint and reversed course heading back to La. 95 and Chataignier.
Mother Nature was hinting.
The sign was hinting.

I went through Chataignier and then turned south, still on La.95. The road in its lower stages is called Etienne Rd. Etienne is Steven in French. I've always felt connected. Maybe in another life. Maybe now. I hit US.190 and went back east toward Opelousas. As soon as I could I ducked south on La.752, a continuation of the 104-95 type road with simular scenery, mostly crawfish ponds. I ran into rain in Sunset. It was a downpour but not enough to pull over. I was hungry and smelling the barn. This is the article I wanted to write about 104 and its sister, 95. Two great ways to see a little of the Plains in not a plain way.
