Some people call it their art-------whatever, it's what you do when you step on stage or infront of the camera. You are acting, it's not real life, it's acting. For every actor there is there is a different approach to his/her craft. And which "approach" is better?.....All I can say is different strokes for different folks, but one thing your approach better have is the tools you need to deliver the job you are asked to do. You'll here acting teachers say "what an actor needs is a good teacher" in other words he/she must say in class all the time, be dependent on that teacher, I say different, I say it depends on what the teacher is teaching. Your teacher isn't going to be there to hold your hand when you walk in to read for one part and they suddenly decide to have you read for another in 10 minutes time. You going to call your teacher to come down and help you? So I say, your teacher better be teaching you to be independent. He/she better be helping you find the tools you need to work alone and work FAST. There is no "I'm not ready yet".
