The realm is a turn based fighting system, with movement being one screen at a time, lvls coming every 10,000 exp points with a max of lvl 1000. Chat is done during gameplay on a split screen by tell, channel or magic mail. There is also a very good player based economy allowing buying and selling of various goods. There are also various trade skills to be learned but none are necessary to gameplay. By using the skill you gain exp as a reward. Skills are Alchemy, weaponsmith, armorsmith. All gear whether loot or created takes damage in battle and wears out over time requiring repair at various merchants. The more expensive piece of gear the more to repair.

In general Realm is a game of Who looks the best in what gear. Fashion is a big part of players gameplay. Dying clothes and changing hairstyles and colors is done on a regular basis. Some peeps even run around in just panties and a bra, or underwear showing off their buff bods.
