MAC’S GEORGETOWN APARTMENT
2200 EST

Colonel Sarah “Mac” Mackenzie lay alone in her four poster bed, looking at the ceiling. Sleep was eluding her, as usual!

“Damn! What’s wrong with me,” she uttered to no one in the silence of her bedroom. “It’s all HIS fault! If it wasn’t for HIM I’d be married and probably sitting on a beach somewhere drinking virgin daiquiris with goddamn little umbrellas,” Mac continued to rant, her volume level rising. “But nooo! I’m laying here in bed, all alone, on a fucking Friday night, watching the ceiling fan go round!”

She lay there for a few minutes more, trying to decide what to do. On the one hand, ever since she had called off the wedding with Mic and sent him on his way, she had been lonely and in dire need of some male company. Not that she was a raging nympho, but after having sex on a regular basis for the last year one kind of gets used to...certain things. The only bad thing was, she didn’t want just any male company, she wanted HIS company. He just still didn’t seem to be biting. ‘Damn coward!’ So, back to the original thought...lonely.

On the other hand, she’d be damned if she’d beg him for some attention. She broke up with Mic but he had yet to get rid of the Video Princess. When they had found Harm after his crash, things had been different between them. For awhile Mac’s wedding had only been postponed until she was sure Harm would be alright. Once he had fully recovered, she knew there would never be anyone for her but Harmon Rabb, so she had sent Mic packing. Mic wasn’t all that surprised, which made Mac feel incredibly guilty, but they had moved on. Mic was still actually in D.C. But, back to the subject at hand, he was still otherwise taken.

The interesting thing, though, was that their friendship had started to blossom again. They were starting to be comfortable with each other again, getting their rhythm back. The Admiral had assigned them to a few cases together, and they seemed to be on their way back to each other. They had tried to talk, but every time they tried, Renee showed up. Every damn time! It’s like she had radar. She knew when to be there to keep anything important from being said. She knew when things were heating up and when to show up with the cold water bucket. ‘Damn! Damn! Damn!’ Frustration flowed through Mac just thinking about all the times in the last three months when opportunity presented itself and they had been rudely interrupted. ‘I really hate that bitch,’ Mac thought to bitterly.

“I know it’s petty and childish to feel that way but I DON’T GIVE A DAMN,” Mac again shouted to no one. ‘I hope I don’t get any calls from the neighbors,’ she thought. ‘I have to get out of here! I have to go somewhere. Anywhere! Just out of this apartment. But where to go...?’

With the decision made, Mac walked to her closet and picked the perfect outfit for a night out. Then she went to her underwear drawer and picked out her sexiest set. Pretty underwear had always been one of her weaknesses. Dressing quickly, she put on her makeup, mussed her hair, placed her jewelry, and was ready to go. She thought once more of a tall, dark haired aviator-turned-lawyer and then with a sigh she patted Jingo on the head and walked out the door.

Harm had his hands full, literally.
“Renee, please. I just don’t want to do this right now!”

“Right now,” Renee screeched. “Harm, it’s been four months since we’ve made love!”

Harm winced at her chosen words. It had never been love. Not for him. He cared for her, he knew he did, maybe in a way he even loved her, but he wasn’t in love with her. It would never be the all consuming kind of love. Not the kind he felt for someone else; the other woman in his life; Mac...

Just thinking about her made him hard, with wanting, with need, with desire for everything he’d always wanted but was too afraid to sacrifice for. He was such a damn coward! If he’d gone after what he wanted in Australia, if he would have taken her back to her hotel room and done everything to her that she had asked for, and some things she hadn’t, he wouldn’t even be in this mess. He had to get away from Renee before she mistook his arousal for her.

It was too late...

Renee’s eyes grew wide. She knew! She knew he was thinking about Mac.

“Now, Harm! I want you to tell me you love me or ...”

“Or what, Renee? You’ll leave me? You’ll what, Renee?”

“I’ll...I’ll...”

“Don’t bother. This conversation is over. You and I both know there’s a reason I haven’t said the words, Renee. It’s because I don’t,” he finished, in an agitated tone.

“Don’t what, Harm?”

She was going to make him say it. “I don’t love you, Renee. I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you. You’re a great person and you deserve for someone to love you completely. Unfortunately, it’s just not me. I really am sorry.”

Harm’s words penetrated Renee’s fogged brain. He didn’t love her. Her world crashed. She hated Sarah Mackenzie. One more look at his face confirmed it was a lost battle. He would always love Mac. She’d never have her miracle with Harm. She got up to start picking up the few things around his apartment that were hers. She smile ironically that even though they had been together almost a year and a half that she had very few items at his place. He had never let her get that close. She shook her head sadly. When she had everything, she headed for the door. He was there.

“Renee, I...”

“Don’t, Harm. I can’t right now. Maybe someday I can, talk but not now.”

Harm shook his head and looked at her one last time. “Goodbye, Renee.”

“Goodbye, Harmon Rabb.”

And with that, she was out of his life.

Harm went to the couch and sat down with a thud. What was he supposed to do now? He really needed to talk to Mac. They had tried to talk ever since his crash but Renee had always come between them. Now there was no Renee, no Brumby. Just Harm and Mac. God, he liked the sound of that. They had been getting closer these last few months, their friendship returning.

How he’d missed it. The banter was back, the teasing, the light touches. Along with it had come a sexual tension that had taken on a life of it’s own. He wanted her. She wanted him. He could feel it.

He reached for the phone. Her answering machine picked up on the fifth ring. ‘Where the hell is she at ten thirty at night?’ he wondered. ‘Did she go out of town? Is she there and just doesn’t want to talk to me? Does she have someone with her...?’ That thought made him involuntarily tense. ‘She wouldn’t, would she?’

He had to get out of there. He needed to go out, get a beer, and relax. Yeah, that was it; relax. He would sit and think and try to figure out what to do about Mac. He wanted her; he was ready for her, now he had to figure out how to get her.

With that thought, he put on his bomber jacket, picked up his keys and headed out the door.

McMURPHY’S TAVERN
2300 EST

Mac walked into the bar, her eyes adjusting to the dark, smokey room. Walking over to the bar, she asked for her usual. The bartender nodded, acknowledging her order. Scanning the room she noticed him almost immediately. He really was a good looking guy. She had noticed it before, but she had always been preoccupied with someone else. Her magnetic gaze brought his eyes to hers and they locked. A smile played at her lips as she took her drink and headed in his direction.

“Good evening, Ma’am,” the familiar voice greeted.

“Good evening. And when we’re out of the office, it’s Mac, Gunny.”

“Well as far as that goes then, it’s Victor or Vic if you want.” He smiled at her, and it was a nice smile. Not a “flyboy” smile, but a nice smile none the less. ‘That’s enough of that, Marine,’ she thought. ‘You’re not going to think about HIM tonight. You are just going to forget about him and have a really great time. Maybe a great time with another Marine.’

Successfully convincing herself, Mac pushed the thoughts of Harm from her mind. Smiling a dazzling smile, she turned on the charm and implored, “Well, Victor, are you going to introduce me to the rest of your friends?”

“Oh pardon me, Ma’a...I mean Mac. This is Rick Gregory and his fiancé Lisa Williams. He indicated with his head, “David Benjamin. Nathan Thornton. And last but not least, Lori Gregory, Rick’s sister.” Gunny finished the introductions with, “Everyone, this Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie, United States Marine Corps.” The pride in his voice as he finished made her flush just a little. He gave her another winning smile, and she smiled back. Then she noticed it. Lori Gregory ever so subtly moved closer to Gunny, giving Mac a look that spoke volumes, that he was hers. Mac knew the feeling, as she had it every time she was near HIM. ‘I thought we had agreed not to think about HIM tonight,’ she reprimanded herself. ‘Fun. Must keep thinking, Fun.’ The sound of David Benjamin’s voice broke into her thoughts.

“God help us! Another kick ass Jarhead.” Everyone around the table began to laugh and Mac replied, “Well, that’s just about the sweetest thing anyone’s ever said to me.”Another set of laugh’s went up.

“This one’s good. She can throw your crap right back at you, Dave,” Nathan said taking another sip of his beer.

“I can sling it with the best of them,” Mac replied giving David another killer smile.

“Mac, would you like to sit down?” Gunny asked.

“Sure, why not?” Mac was about to sit down by Gunny when David got up and grabbed another chair from a nearby empty table.

“Here, you can sit by me, Mac,” David gushed, practically grabbing her hand and pulling her into her seat.

“Easy boy! All you had to do was ask,” she laughed, amused by his overeagerness.

David scooted closer to her chair. They all settled into fairly easy conversation, getting to know Mac and asking the two Marines questions about JAG. Since her job was something she absolutely loved, it was easy for her to talk about.

After they had been sitting there awhile, David leaned over and asked her, “Hey, would you like to dance?”

Mac pondered for a minute what to do. Dave was a nice enough guy, but he really didn’t do a thing for her. ‘If I tell him no though it will hurt his feelings.’ she thought.’Damn...’

“Sure, why not?”

David all but jumped out of his seat. Mac stood and was about to walk toward the dance floor when David grabbed her hand and drug her along behind. When they reached the dance floor, he pulled her into his arms and began to sway to the slow music. She tried to keep some distance between them, but it was next to impossible. He kept trying to pull her closer. ‘One dance, just make it through one dance...’ Feeling David’s hand move lower, she knew she had to stop this. Never planning to lead him on, Mac was faced with a dilemma. She was so wrapped up in her own problems, literally, that she never noticed the one man that occupied her thoughts 24/7. He was standing there by the door, with a look on his face that could have frozen hell.

McMURPHY’S TAVERN
2330 EST

Harm stood watching Mac with some man he had never seen before. A wave of jealousy unlike Harm had ever known washed over his body. His body was frozen in place, and all he could do was ask himself, ‘who was he? How close were they?’ He thought she looked amazing wearing that short black mini-skirt and a very sexy red sweater that did fantastic things for her perfect body. Her bare legs seemed to go on forever and ended in killer black high-heeled boots that went up to her calves. As he took in her alluring beauty, he realized that it was not meant for him. Apparently she had dressed to pick up guys, and it was working. Taking one last look at the guy that she was with, pawing at her, he turned to leave in disgust. He couldn’t stay here and watch her with another man. Not again.

That is, until he watched as Mac not so subtly moved his hands off of her and stepped slightly back. The look she was giving the man was anything but inviting. Concluding she wasn’t enjoying herself by the look she was giving the other man, Harm decided to step in. ‘Looks like my Marine needs rescuing,’ Harm thought to himself. Harm made his way to the dance floor, his target always in focus. So intent was he, he didn’t notice the interested glances from the occupants at Gunny’s table or the more than amused look from Gunny. ‘This is going to be interesting,’ Gunny thought to himself. No matter what they said, he, like everyone else in the office, knew what was going on between the two officers, even if they hadn’t figured it out for themselves.

“Victor, what’s going on?” Lori’s breathy voice so close to his ear sent shivers down his spine. He himself was in a dilemma, being in love with Lori. He had been for a long time, but had never really told her how he felt. His unyielding respect for here, the sister of his best friend, was keeping him from making a move, the move that would make her his forever. The move to show her how much he wanted her.

Looking at the scene before him, insight into his own situation dawned on him. He wasn’t any different than the Commander. He was a fool, too. Turning, Gunny leaned into her, inhaling her scent, and found himself awash with it. Looking deeply into her eyes, he saw his love reflected back. They gazed lovingly at each other, lost from the scene on the dance floor as they made love to one another visually. “I don’t know but I think we’re about to see fireworks.” Neither noticed when the tall, dark haired aviator-turned-lawyer came up to the couple dancing and tapped David on the shoulder.

“Excuse me. But I think you’re dancing with my date.”

McMURPHY'S TAVERN
2340 EST

Mac’s head shot up in disbelief. HE was here. HE was really here. God, what was she going to do now?

“Uh, I don’t think so. The lady was dancing with me,” David shot back quickly, placing a possessive arm around Mac’s waist.

Noticing Harm tense, an amused grin appeared on her face. He was standing there looking at David with a look that would kill any normal person. But David held his ground, and Harm turned to look at her. He was jealous and it made her feel glorious!

‘What do you want, Mac?’

The silent question hung like a shroud between them. Expecting Mac to send the bum away, Harm stood pretentious, ready to strike.

‘Your move, flyboy,’ Mac silently shot back.

“She’s not with you anymore,” he told his adversary. With that, he took Mac’s hand and pulled her out of David’s arms.

David gave one last relinquishing look at Mac. “Are you really with him?” David asked.

Looking into Harm’s eyes, she was stunned by his intense, unwavering stare that glittered with something Mac couldn’t put a name to. She had her answer. “Yeah, I guess I am,”she answered breathlessly, never taking her eyes off of the sailor in front of her.

David knew when he had been defeated. Silently he backed away from the couple and headed back to the table.

Heated gazes were exchanged as Harm led her into a dance. Drawing her close, the contact of their bodies fully pressed against each other almost drew audible groans from both. Their eyes never left each other; afraid that if one looked away the other would be gone. Finally, Mac recovered her breath, found her voice and courageously asked, “Well this is an unexpected surprise. Harm, what are you doing here?”

Lost in her essence, Harm fought for his resolve at the sight of her. She was breathtaking! He found enough of his voice to answer, “From the look of things, fair maiden, saving your six.”

Hackles immediately rose on the back of her neck. “You were saving my...is that what you think? Maybe I was enjoying my dance with...” She shook her head forgetting his name. ‘Good God!’ she thought, ‘Harm shows up and I can’t remember another man’s name.’

“Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten his name already, Mac.”

He was giving her that smug, “flyboy” grin and it was pissing her off.

“I know what his name is ... it’s...David! See I remember. We were having a great time when you showed up,” Mac ranted.

“Is that why you were pulling his hand off your as...uh rear? Because you were having such a great time?”

Damn, that smile was on his face again. What she wouldn’t give to knock it right off...

He relented. “Come on, Mac. You looked miserable. If you weren’t, and you want to dance with him instead of me, just say so and I’ll go.”

Waiting for her answer, he knew she didn’t want the other clown, she wanted him. Her defenses crumbled and she smiled up into his waiting eyes. “I can’t think of anyone I’d rather dance with than you.”

Harm let out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. Relaxing against her, he melded his frame into the sensations of their bodies rubbing together. Resting her head on his shoulder, she swayed in time with him to Trisha Yearwood’s incredible voice reverberating though the bar.

How do I live without you?
I want to know.
How do I breath without you, if you ever go?
How do I, oh, how do I Live...

How do I live through one night with out you,
If I had to live without you,
what kind of life would that be?
Oh I, Baby I don’t know what I would do.
I’d be lost if I lost you...

Harm pulled her closer to him, if that were possible, the words of the song affecting him almost as much as the woman in his arms.

If you ever leave, Baby you would take away everything good in my life...

The words of the song faded away and nothing but the two of them were left. Time seemed to stop. The noise of the bar faded. The people on the dance floor around them slipped away. Just the two of them were left. Harm and Mac. God, she liked the sound of that. Again, she tilted her head up to look into his eyes. When it seemed like an eternity had passed, she finally spoke. “So Harm, what do you want?”

His answer was immediate. “I want a lot of things.”

“What do you want most?”

Another time and another conversation played through his head. He had lost her then. He wouldn’t lose her again.

“You, Sarah. I want you.” he answered, his voice buttery smooth.

‘Oh, he called me Sarah!’ It was Mac’s turn to release the breath she had been holding. Her face ignited with a tremendous smile that lit up Harm’s world. It had been too long since he’d seen her smile like that, a surge of male pride swelling up within him knowing he was the reason for it.

His softened tone had sent shivers down her spine causing them to react to one another in an electrifying dance, which made them both aware of each others arousal. Five years of tension was finally making way to what was going to be a long night of passion, and she felt the heated moisture of her core secretly saturate her thong. Of course he could make her wet just by walking into a room. If he spoke...well let’s just say it was just about over for her. The friction of the dance encouraged him to press his aching member into her hipbone, which turned them on even more.

With the realization of their need, Harm finally spoke. “Let’s get out of here.”

“Alright.”

Attempting a hasty getaway, they made a break for it.

“Leaving already, Commander?”

Harm’s head shot up at Gunny’s voice. He hadn’t seen him when he’d come in and a look of shock/terror appeared on his face. After seeing Gunny’s warm smile, Harm relaxed a little. “Yeah, I was just going to see that the Colonel got to her car safely.”

Gunny nodded, “Have a pleasant evening and a nice weekend, Colonel, Commander.”

As Gunny and Lori passed on the way to the dance floor, Lori grinned at Mac and the two shared a knowing look that said they both were getting everything they wanted. Their men had finally come their senses.

Outside the bar Harm walked Mac to her car, holding her hand as they went. It was amazing. Just holding her hand felt special. When they reached the car, neither knew what to say. After a long pause they both spoke at the same time.

“Mac...”

“Harm...”

Laughing nervously, his mind raced to think of how to proceed. They had a lot to talk about before they made that final move and consummated their newly discovered love.

“Mac, why don’t we talk?”

To say Mac was stunned would have been an understatement. She was floored. Passion she expected from Harmon Rabb. Obsession, power, lust she expected from him. The fact that he wanted to just talk to her left her speechless. Especially since getting him to open up was like pulling teeth.

That night on the Admiral’s front porch she had wanted to talk, she had begged him to talk. He had opened up to her, but only because she had pushed and pushed hard. Now, when all she wanted to do was jump on him in the middle of the parking lot, HE wanted to talk. It was overwhelming. She really didn’t know what to say. It was the second time tonight he had completely surprised her.

“Mac, are you ok?”

She smiled at him and nodded her head. “Yeah, I’m ok. I think you’re right, we need to talk. Where do you want to go?”

“Um, I don’t know. Your place is closer. But if you want, we can go to mine. I just want to talk; I don’t care where.”

She finally answered. “I think I’d rather go to your place. I haven’t been there in a while.”

“You got it. So are we driving separate or..?”

“Why don’t we drop my car at my place and then we’ll ride to your place together?”

“Alright. I’m right behind you.”

HARM’S APARTMENT
NORTH OF UNION STATION
0045 EST SATURDAY

By the time they reached Harm’s apartment Mac had wished they had just stayed at her’s. She was growing more impatient by the minute, wondering why, when all she wanted to do was jump on Harm and make him forget every other woman he had ever known, did he now want to talk? Not that she didn’t want to talk too. But later. Now she just wanted...

“Hey! You want something to drink or... something?”

“Sure, thanks.”

“Water ok?” Harm called from over his shoulder.

“Yeah that’s fine.”

Mac took the time away from him to look around his apartment. Surprisingly not much had changed. There were still pictures of them together scattered around. She was surprised to find that there weren’t any pictures of Renee anywhere. Oh, damn! Renee. That definitely needed to be one thing they discussed tonight. Mac thought perhaps he was going to tell her about his ongoing relationship with Renee, how serious it had become, or maybe they were getting...

“Hey, here you go, Mac.”

He handed her the bottle of water and she took it, all the while trying to avoid his eyes. Harm noticed, but didn’t know what had brought on her sudden state. Trying to lighten the mood a little he asked, “So, how about some music?”

“Sure. That would be great.”

While the strains of jazz filled the room Mac sat down on the couch, and then Harm joined her. Letting the music relax him, he gently took her hand in his, but stumbled over his words, trying to decide where to start.

“Mac, I ...well I ... God why is this so hard?”

Her fingers wound in his larger ones with her reply. “Maybe it’s because we’ve never done this before. Really talked, I mean. About us...”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. We’ve been so close over the years but also just as far away. God, THAT made a whole lot of sense,” he said sarcastically.

“Actually it did,” she said thoughtfully, as she studied him. He was so handsome, but he looked so lost. Her heart broke for him.

“Mac, I know I’ve hurt you. You have every right to hate me. I just want you to know that I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done to you. I would never intentionally hurt you. In fact in my own way I thought I was protecting you.”

“Protecting me? Harm, I don’t understand. Protecting me from what?”

“From me.” His head was bowed and she couldn’t see his eyes.

“Why would I need protecting from you?”

“Oh come on, Mac. I’m a mess. I have been for two years, most of my life really,” he stood up and started to pace before he continued. “When I left JAG for flying I thought I was getting it all back. My dream. But then I had to face the facts that even though I still have what it takes to be a pilot, I missed being a lawyer. I missed JAG. I missed...you. I missed you so much it hurt. I missed you so much that at night, I couldn’t even sleep wondering where you were or what you were doing.”

“Then why...why didn’t you...?”

“Call? Or write? God, Mac I wanted to. I thought about it every day. But then I would just think that maybe you needed a clean break. I didn’t know when I’d get to see you again and just thought it’d be easier that way. That’s why when I did write I left things impersonal. Again, I thought I was protecting you.”

Mac was furious. “God damn it, Harm! Who the hell do you think you are? Do have any idea how much it hurt to think my best friend didn’t give a rats ass enough about me to drop me a line and say anything other than what the weather was like when you went up flying? To think that that airplane was more important to you than everything else. And who the hell gave you the right to decide what I need? I didn’t need protecting. I...I needed my best friend!” Mac was shaking she was so mad.

“Look Mac, I know. That’s what I’m trying to say. I knew I had screwed up when you came to the Henry to investigate Buxton. When I saw that you had been promoted and hadn’t even told me, I was hurt too, Mac. You hadn’t made much of an effort to contact me either.”

“I didn’t because you...”

“I know, I know. It’s just even after that I thought things would be better when I came back to JAG. I knew we had kind of drifted apart, but I thought that when I came back we’d settle things. But things were different. You were different. I had been replaced. My office was gone, my rank was gone...my best friend was gone.”

“Harm, I’m sorry too. But you have to understand. I was so hurt. I didn’t want to let you back in because by that time, I was afraid if I did and you left me again, I wouldn’t make it. Brumby started to fill a void in me. Even now I look back and don’t know how he wormed his way in. Persistence I guess.”

Mac sat there a minute before she continued, “I know it didn’t seem like it, but I was so happy when you came back. To see you smile again. To look up and see you cross the bullpen on the way to your office. I just...I just...”

Harm crossed the floor and sat by her again on the couch.“Mac, look, I know. Believe me, I do understand. But I still felt like I wasn’t needed anymore. By the time we went to Australia, things were starting to get better but I still had a long way to go. And then Brumby. God, I was so damn jealous of him anyway. When I finally saw you with him on the beach, when I thought you were topless, I was beyond jealous. There are no words to describe how I felt. When we went on that ferry ride,” Harm felt her tense but continued, “I was thoroughly confused, and then when you asked for me to take the next step, all I could think was, ‘I’m not ready yet’. I still had too much to work out. Did I make the right decision coming back to JAG? Could I ever be everything to you that I want to be, everything I’ve never been with anyone else? I said I couldn’t ‘let go’ because I was afraid I was too heavy for you to catch me.”

At Mac’s puzzled look he continued, “Mac, I have so much baggage. Between Diane and my father, who’d really want me, flaws and all?”

Mac took Harm’s face between her hands and looked right into his beautiful blue-green eyes.“Harm, I have always wanted you.”

“Really?” he barely whispered.

“Yes, really.”

“Then why did you wear his ring?”

“Like I’ve said before, you pushed me away. What was I supposed to do?”

“Wait.”

“You didn’t tell me to wait. You told me no. I’m not a mind reader, Harm. How was I supposed to know what you meant to say?”

“I don’t know. All I know was part of me died in that Sidney airport.”

“When you saw the ring?”

“No. When I saw you kiss him.”

Mac sighed. What a mess they had made of things. “But Harm, why didn’t you say anything? I wore that damn ring for almost a year and a half and you never once said anything until that night on the Admiral’s porch, and by then it was too late.”

“How could I say anything. You had made your choice and I wasn’t it.”

“How dare you put the blame on me! You were my first choice! What, you think I throw myself at every guy I work with? You think I pushed Brumby over to take a crack at you, and when I couldn’t get you I went back to him? Is that what you think?”

Harm sat there looking at Mac intently. God, she was amazing when she was angry.

“Well answer me dammit!”

“No. I just wanted you to be happy, Mac. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

“That’s all I’ve ever wanted for you too, Harm.” Mac paused before asking, “Are you happy with Renee? Because if you are I’ll stay out of the way. I know she doesn’t care for me too much. But I really don’t want to cause problems between you.”

Harm reached out and lifted Mac’s chin with his finger so that he could look in her eyes. “Mac, I don’t want Renee. I want you. Right now.”

With that, Harm’s mouth came crashing down on Mac’s. This kiss was nothing like the other kisses they had shared. This kiss was all consuming. Tongues battled, teethe scraped. It was rough and greedy. Each sought control and both were willing to surrender to the passion that had ignited. Their lips were fused together. Neither wanted to break contact, but the need for air won out. Harm drew back, looking into the smokey depths of her eyes seeing the answer to his silent question. She wanted him. She needed him.

“Sarah..?” He was asking permission. Her heart swelled with love for him.

“Yes, Harm. Yes.”

That was all the encouragement he needed.

Their lips met again, the uncontrollable hunger threatening to consume them both. Harm impatiently pushed Mac back onto the couch, his upper body grinding into hers with such force it took her breath away. His hands were everywhere at once. He couldn’t get enough, couldn’t touch enough. Again the need for air drove them apart. He looked into her eyes, telling her everything she had ever wanted to hear, and he hadn’t spoken a word.

The savagely lustful look he gave her made her shiver in anticipation. This was what she had waited her whole life for, this look of need, of pure desire.

“God, Mac I want you.” She almost didn’t recognize the husky voice that spoke to her.

“Harm, you’ve got me. I want you too,” she said, pulling his head down so her lips were close to his ear,“Touch me, Harm. I want you to touch me. I need you to touch me. ”

Her hot, moist breath in his ear undid his fragile control. He grasped her wrists and held them above her head which brought their bodies in more direct contact, his hard chest against her aching breasts.

“Oh...,”Mac sighed. This was too much. Too intense...

Harm moved to hold her wrists with one hand, while the other moved down and up under her sweater. His hand smoothing along slowly across her tight stomach felt like fire. His touch burned her, branded her, slowly driving her insane. Squirming and writhing under him, she was fanning the flames building in Harm’s body. Continuing the journey, he finally reached his destination, cupping her right breast, while her tight, hard nipple pressed into his palm through the black lace of her bra. Touching wasn’t enough, he wanted to see her, look at what he’d only dreamed about. Removing his hand from her breast brought whimpered protests from her. Harm gave her a sly smile, “I’m coming right back, baby. But I want to look at you.” Hearing him call her baby sent a jolt of electricity right to her center. Reaching for the hem of her sweater, he grabbed it and pulled it up and over her head, tossing it away. Her breasts heaving, she arched her back, letting him look his fill, making him even harder than he already was, almost painfully so. His hands were trembling badly while trying to open the clasp of her black lacy bra.

He looked up at Mac for help. “Rip it off me, Harm,” she smiled seductively.

Grasping the front in both hands, he ripped the fabric savagely. The sight of her bare breasts stole his breath away. “My God, Mac. You are so beautiful.”

“You act like you’ve never seen breasts before.”

“I haven’t. Not like these.”

Mac smiled. “Well then, I think you need to take a closer look.”

Harm’s fingers lightly brushed over her silky skin, tracing the outside of one dark nipple and then the other one, never quite touching the tips. “Harm, please...,” she pleaded, her head tossing back and forth.

Arching her back again, she offered herself to the man she loved. Harm lowered his head, his lips grazing the tip of her nipple. Finally his tongue flicked it, and it felt like lightning had struck her body. She arched further and Harm greedily took the straining bud into his mouth. Sucking as hard as he could on one while his hand found the other, he pinched and rolled the nipple between his fingers. Then switching, his mouth sucked the other while his fingers worked magic. It was too much she screamed out his name.

Releasing her breasts, he reached impatiently for her skirt, pushing it up past her hips, and taking in the sight of her skimpy black thong that barely covered her mound. “Oh God I want that...,” Harm moaned.

“Then take it. Harm, take it!”

“Yes...”

His fingers slowly ran up and down the lace sides of her panties, meeting at her center then moving back up, lightly rubbing the soft hair there. Not able to wait any longer, he yanked the panties over her hips and down her long legs. She was exquisite. Kneeling between her open legs, as if praying at an alter, all he could so was stare at her.

The reverence he felt for her was overwhelming, as her scent surrounded him. He had to taste. Touching her folds, he parted them and fingered her clit. Again she screamed. “Oh fuck, Harm!”

It was so erotic, touching her there, hearing her talk like that and scream his name. His tongue replaced his finger on her clit while his fingers moved inside her. It was too much for her, and she clenched her whole body and came, screaming her release.

Harm continued to lick and rub her, sucking every ounce of her essence into his mouth. When the waves of release passed, he silently gazed up at her resting face. ‘Beautiful, absolutely beautiful,’ he thought as the flush slowly left her heated body. When she found the strength to move again, she lifted up on an elbow and smiled a sexy smile to let him know he was in trouble.

The best kind of trouble.

“You know we are nowhere near done, don’t you, Harm?”

“Yes, Ma’am.”

Sitting up on the couch, her legs still draped over his shoulders, she added, “And you are currently way overdressed for what I have in mind.”

“Yes, Ma’am,” he droned, seductively.

Her smile widened. “Well, then let’s do something about that.”

Rubbing her hands up and down his solid chest, she skimmed over his hard body and then down to pull his black T-shirt out of the waistband of his faded jeans, that hugged his taut body in all the right places. Pulling his shirt over his head, she tossed it to join her sweater that had long since been discarded. Rubbing her palms over his nipples, she caused them to tighten, and he groaned as her nails scraped and teased their way down to the button on his fly. Looking him in the eye, she released the button and pulled down his zipper. Parting the soft denim, she heard his breath catch, as she slipped her fingers inside the waistband of his boxers and caressed the soft skin of his abdomen. His muscles tightened in response. Her hands then slid around his waist, still inside his boxers, and made their way to his ass. Grabbing it, she kneaded its firmness, and in one swift motion, she pulled his jeans and boxers down at the same time, releasing his straining erection. Sultry eyes fixed on his, even though she wanted to see that part of him so badly. Still looking in his eyes, she reached between them and grabbed his throbbing cock in her hand. Harm tried to keep his eyes open but the sensation of Mac stroking him was too much. His breathing became shallow and he knew he was so close.

When Harm closed his eyes, Mac finally took the opportunity to look at him. Her touch had told her he was big, but nothing prepared her for the sight of him. He was really big. All she could think about was taking that thing in her mouth, sucking it, licking it, stroking it.

“Sit on the couch, Harm,” she ordered her sweetly.

Silently, they switched places, as his pants pooled around his ankles. Mac knelt in front of him, gently taking his socks and shoes off, then taking his jeans and boxers the rest of the way off. Returning to the spot between his legs, she started rubbing the inside of his thighs against her naked breasts, his hair tickling her sensitive nipples and making them stand erect again. Her hands skimmed along the inside of his legs, finally touching his throbbing shaft. She stroked his length, and he gritted his teeth trying to control the release he knew was coming . Her lips replaced her hands, kissing up and down his penis, licking and sucking lightly, never touching the tip. When she took him fully into her mouth, he cried out and arched toward her.

“Jesus, Mac. Baby, I’m gonna explode...you have to stop...don’t want to come...to soon... want to be inside you... Mac!”

Never relenting, she continued to suck him harder, take him deeper into her mouth. Lips, tongue, teeth, she scraped and sucked; taking everything she could from him, as his hands tangled in her hair. Amazed that giving him head could get her just as excited as he was, she reflected that she had never enjoyed it this much with Mic, who only left her feeling degraded because of his unreasonable expectations. It was different with Harm. Knowing that Harm would never make her do anything she wasn’t comfortable with made her want to please him all the more. Tasting his salty pre-come on her tongue, she wanted all of him. “Let it go Harm. I want it. I want it now.”

Her mouth went back to sucking him as her hand pumped the base of his cock. He knew he couldn’t hold out any longer.

“Oh shit! Oh God! Aaaahhhh ...God...Aaaahhhh...Saarraahh!!!!”

As his seed pumped into her mouth, hot and fast, Sarah Mackenzie did something she had never done for another man, she swallowed. She continued to greedily lap at him until he was soft, then looked up at him with her satisfied grin, as he returned one of his own. Pulling her up to sit on his lap, Harm noticed, with a twinge of humor, that she still had her boots on, and her black mini-skirt was up around her waist. Finding it exciting to see her like this, he warmed to the thought of thoroughly ravaging her, as soon as his body would cooperate.

Pulling her to him for a searing kiss, he felt her generous breasts against his chest while her mound rubbed against his cock, making it twitch in awareness of being so close to her. Grinding down on him, he wondered how she could do this to him again so soon. Would they ever get enough of each other? ‘Damn I hope not!’ he thought to himself.

“Mac, I want to make love to you,” he said between kisses. “I want you in my bed, us tangled in my sheets. I want to be inside you. Let me love you. Please.”

“Oh Harm, yes. Please make love to me.”

Making love, that’s what he had always wanted to do with Mac; only with Mac. Picking her up with her still wrapped around him, his arms went around her to gently cup her bottom. Placing another kiss to her swollen lips he murmured, “Hmm, I like this.”

“What,” Mac asked, breathlessly.

“Taking you to my bed, with you wrapped around me,” he replied huskily.

“I think I could get used to it,” Mac replied sweetly, kissing all over his face, along his jaw.

When they reached the bed he lowered them, still wrapped together, onto the soft covers.

“You better get used to it. Because baby, after tonight, I’m never letting you go again.”

She smiled at him, “Well it’s a good thing because after tonight, if another woman so much as looks at you, I’ll kill her with my bare hands.”

Looking into her eyes, he knew he couldn’t live another minute without telling her how he felt. “I love you, Sarah.”

“I love you too, Harm,” she said, as her eyes welled up with tears.

Both felt an exhilaration neither had ever felt before as their need was spilled put into passionate kisses. The fire between them raged out of control and brought out Mac’s raucous side, as she broke the silence. “Fuck me, Harm. Now.”

“Yes, Ma’am.”

He undid the mini-skirt and slid it the rest of the way off her body. As their mouths met, his hands moved, all over her body to her breasts, her arms, her hands, her stomach, and her thighs. When he got to her calves he remembered her boots. Tearing his mouth away, he kissed his way down her body.

When he reached her legs he unzipped her boots, slowly first one then the other, kissing the exposed skin as he went. Removing each, he tossed them to the floor then slowly ran his hands over her feet, up her calves, then up her thighs. Kissing the silky skin on the insides of her legs with his amazing mouth caused wetness to pool again at her center. Contentedly, he delved into her, lapping her with his educated tongue, driving Mac insane.

“Not now, sailor,” she said pushing him away. “I need to feel you inside me.”

Her sexy voice sent shivers down his spine, as he couldn’t think of any other place he’d rather be than buried inside of Sarah Mackenzie. Crawling up her body, he looked like he wanted to swallow her whole, as she instinctively opened her legs to him. Looking directly into her dark brown eyes, he entered her with a powerful thrust that made them both cry out.

She was so amazingly tight, and so hot, making his ability to last extremely difficult. When he began to move she whimpered, moaning his name over and over. Nothing Harm had ever experienced could have prepared him for this moment. She felt incredible. ‘I’m home. I’m finally home,’ he thought with the rhythm of his thrusts.

“Oh God, Harm! This feels...oh, sooo good...I...I can’t ...can’t breath...”

Harm’s lips met hers again in an all consuming kiss, as he moved almost all the way out of her before plunging all the way back in as far as he could go. Mac sighed into his mouth. Harm broke the kiss to look into her eyes, while Mac clenched around him. A low growl emanated from his throat with the sensations Mac was causing from her movements.

“Harder! I need it harder,” Mac cried, as she thrust her hips up to meet his. Harm’s thin thread on reality snapped, and he pounded into her savagely, causing Mac to cry out.

“Yes, yes! Oh, Harm...yes...I’m coming...HARM...I...”

“Oh God, Mac... me...too...OOHHH!”

With their mingled cries of pleasure, Harmon Rabb branded Sarah Mackenzie his forever. His seed spilled into her as he collapsed on top of her. Their breathing ragged, they came down together, never wanting the moment to end. The tears began uncontrolled as Mac ran her hand through Harm’s hair in a comforting manner. They clung together as if the other might vanish. Looking up at her, he immediately noticed her tears.

“Mac, Honey? Did I hurt you? I never meant to...”

She put a finger to his lips to silence him. “Harm, no. You could never hurt me.”

“I wish that were true. I’ve hurt you more than I’d like to admit.”

“I mean physically. Besides, that’s not why I was crying.”

“Then what is it?” he asked as his hand reached up to cup her cheek, and wipe away her tears, as he had done so many times in the past.

“Harm, I ‘ve never felt like this, making love with anyone before.”

“Like what?”

Embarrassed, she hid her face, not wanting him to see her weakness, mistaking sex for a supposed lifetime commitment. She knew how he felt about commitment. He didn’t want it. Or maybe he did. With everything that had happened she completely forgot about Renee. What if...

“Hey? Mac, talk to me.”

Looking him in the in eyes Mac sighed. “Home. It felt like home.”

A kiss, sweet and full of promises Mac couldn’t even begin to fathom, was given freely as Harm tried to convey the extent of his love. He rolled over on his side, then turning Mac around, he wrapped her in his arms, her back against his hard chest.

The last thing she heard before he drifted off to sleep was “I love you, Mac.”

HARM’S APARTMENT
NORTH OF UNION STATION
0435 EST SATURDAY

Harm awoke with a start, noticing the bed was empty beside him. He scanned the dark room, looking for her, and when he didn’t see her, he called out.

“Mac? Are you there?”

When there was no answer, Harm sat up and got out of bed. Noticing a pair of his boxers laying on the floor he picked them up and slipped them on while he made his way to the living room. She was standing by the window in his discarded uniform dress shirt looking out into the night. Watching her and hearing her sniffle, it hit him how beautiful she was, and what a fool he had been for not telling her he loved her sooner.

“Hey, Mac? You okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine. I just got up to turn off the CD player. We forgot about it and left it on.” She sniffed again before continuing. “You should go on back to bed. I’ll be there in a minute.”

Harm paused before asking the question he feared the answer to the most. “You regret it, don’t you?”

Not turning around she answered. “Yes. But not for the reasons you think.”

Coming up behind her, he turned her around to face him. Still, she wouldn’t look him in the eyes, so he tipped her face up with his finger.

“What is it, Mac?” he asked ever so softly.

“I’m just so ashamed. You still have a girlfriend, Harm, a relationship that you’ve been in for over a year and a half, and I just seduced you into cheating on her. I made you betray her trust. I’m so sorry. I had no right to do that. What kind of person am I? I just wanted you so badly. I just need to go.” She tried to break the hold he had on her, but he wouldn’t let go. “Please, Harm. Please let me go,” she implored.

Holding her even tighter he asked, “Mac, what are you talking about? I thought we had cleared this up earlier. I want you, Mac. It’s always been you that I wanted.”

“But Renee..?”

“Mac, I’m sorry. We never got around to talking about it, but you don’t have to worry about Renee. I broke it off with her earlier this evening. She demanded the commitment she deserved but I just couldn’t give it to her.” He felt Mac’s body tense and nod her head in understanding. Knowing what she was thinking he hurried on. “You know why I couldn’t commit to her? Because I’m already head-over-heels in love with the most beautiful, intelligent, kind, caring, considerate, kick-ass, Marine Jarhead in the entire world. There was just no way I could lead her on any longer. Not when I finally knew what I wanted and decided to go after it.”

By now, the tears were again streaming down her face. “Oh, Harm.” She brought his lips down to hers for a kiss. Before it grew too heated, she broke away. “You know you could have told me all of this to start out with, and I wouldn’t have had to spend the last 3 hours and 13 minutes stewing over it.” She swatted him playfully on the arm.

Harm wiped away the remainder of her tears. “You didn’t ask,” he replied smiling at her.

“Oh, so it’s all my fault, huh? I was just supposed to ask?” she queried, incredulously.

“Well yeah...”

“Harm, the first thing we need to do is work on our communication skills. We really suck at it. Communicating I mean.”

“Hmm, I agree,” he replied, with that predatory look in his eyes again that had Mac backing up. Trying to get away, she ran right into the counter.

“Ouch.”

“Ha ha! Now you have no where to go,” he cajoled, closing the distance between them and pressing her body against his. “So, Mac? What do you want to talk about?”

With Harm standing this close to her, she couldn’t think of a reply, but there were definitely a few other things she could think of that she wanted to do right now.

“Well isn’t this funny? I can’t think of anything to say right now.”

“Well I can think of a few things,” he drawled. “First, let me be the first to tell you that you look sexy as hell in my dress shirt and nothing else.”

“Really? You think I’m sexy,” Mac asked, shyly.

“Honey, you have no idea. And second...”

Mac’s come hither look spoke volumes. “Yes, Harm?”

Losing all train of thought, he took her in his arms with the soul intent of making love to her again.

“It can wait,” he said with a kiss.
