| What can be said about the most wonderful, loving, trustworthy, compassionate, understanding, talented man and dedicated Christian a person could every hope to meet? Not much more, I don't guess. Then again, I'm biased--and already know most all there is to know about him to boot. So ::deep breath:: Guess I'll simply make an attempt to fill in at least a few details for those of you out there who may have a morbid curiousity to know... Born a wee thing in Februrary of 1958, weighing in at less than 6 pounds, he's since found ways to overcome that 'minor' obstacle in his life.(He's a big 'ol cuddly Polar Bear now!) His eyes are the bluest of blue, though when he's tired they take a rather patriotic turn--and are red, white, and blue HEHE He is kind, considerate, generous (to a fault sometimes), and is most assuredly one of the best people to talk to when you need a listening ear or someone to pray with you. His first love is the Lord, his second is me...a fact that doesn't make me jealous in the least. Rather, it makes me love him all the more! He is VERY active in our local church and in the community. In addition to having been involved with scouting for many years (he reached the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man, and went on to serve as Scout Master and other assorted roles) and local theater (as an actor--he's marvelous!--producer, and publicity person, sometimes multi-tasking and doing more than one thing at a time), he was and remains a dedicated Kiwanian. (Ummm, no dear, I STILL don't want to join) In Kiwanis, he's served as club secretary, webmaster, newsletter writer (He won national recognition for himself and his club for that!), president, and Lt. Governer....like theater, he sometimes performs more than one role at a time, always doing an stellar job, I must add. I truly am proud of him, though I probably don't say it as oft as I should. Oh yes...Rog is an animal lover extraordinare. Something that has proved helpful in our marriage, since I am the same way. (Now, if he'd just learn to empty the cat's box!) Somehow, perhaps just after birth, he had some sort of doggie-radar implanted in his head. There's simply no other explanation for why, if there's a puppy within 10 blocks of wherever he is, he'll locate it! Roger loves to laugh...and his joy is contagious. Why, it was because of him I found my own laugh again! In some ways, he's nothing more than a big kid at heart--which probably explains why children, including my own, absolutely adore him. He helps me with Children's Church on Sundays, is my support person in the Teens for Life group, and does little things for the various children at church (like tossing pennies from the balcony--which causes a 3 year old's eyes to light up: pennies from heaven! ) Family is an important part of his life. He accepts and loves my 3 as his own, and doesn't hesitate to make that known to everyone. |
