STREETFIGHTER 2 - SPECTRUM 128K
Well if you've never played Street Fighter 2 before, then come back out from under that rock, this is one of the most famous games on the planet, it was the David Beckham of its day!!

The thing that may suprise some people though is that it was released on the Spectrum!
Even more suprising is that it had a lot of the options as the original!
This was released in 1993, and it was probably the last proper Spectum game to be released, Compared with most around at the time this is a big sized game, so big that it had one of the worst loading schemes in history, if you are playing on a actual spectrum, then i wouldnt advise this game at all, the game had to load each characture seperately and the background, so this is three seperate loads for each fight, not only that but you will have to search the whole tape, trying to find a characture file, this can take ages and then the fights only last about three minutes in total!
All the charactures from the original are here, again a great feat for its time, nobody thought this would be possible on the Spectrum.

So you can play as Ryu, Ken, Guille, Eddie Honda the whole cast is here!

All of the locations are here as well, in fact in layout they did a really good game, although it does have some major flaws, not only the loading times.
The graphics, for a speccy game, are brilliant, very close to the original, only in monocrome, they actually look very good,  you can change the colour scheme manually, and this is a good idea, as the defaults are pretty disgusting!

The sprites are all faithfully recreated, looking just like they did originally, only this time in black and white, the backdrops are also as close to the originals as can be expected from this ancient machine, although there are no animated backgrounds, but that wasnt expected!
The gameplay itself, was simple, one on one fighting, this was one of the other flaws with the game, it was quite slow, whereas the original had blistering pace, but this can be overlooked, cos its still a nice fighter, but it just doesnt have the feel of the original.

So overall this would have been a great game, if it didnt have the Streetfighter logo, but it did and you expected a little more from the actual gameplay, So a great game that was ruined by being the younger brother of an absolute genius!
