Unlike the movie that spawned this game, this is actually a worthy sequal to what is a classic game. Offering everything we ask from a blockbuster sequal, this game has it all, bigger levels, better graphics and better gameplay. Based on the movie of the same name, this game see's you take control of the lump of metal for a second time.
The game is a side on platform shootem up, with lots of power ups and some very cleverly designed levels. The game starts with you in the river rouge sludge factory, and this is where you first notice how much bigger this game is than the original. In robo 1 you basically only had to travel from left to right disposing of any criminals that got in your way, well its all change here, where you must travel left right up down through doors, already on the first level this seems bigger than the entire first game. You will need to shoot out switches to turn off magnets that grab robo, you will also need to punch through a hidden wall which opens up a door to a new area.
Whilst walking around you will notice lots of different falling icons, these are your power ups, unlike the first game there are no pick ups, instead you must shoot them down from the sky. These range from the usual energy and weapon power ups, to the extremly useful thermo image enhancer which helps to see punchable walls. The level has a seperate section which is accessable by walking through any of the doors, this is the smae size as the first area but in a different colour, this makes the level twice as big as it originally seemed.

Other than the massive platform levels, the game also welcomes back the puzzle levels and shooting areas which added to the original, only this time they have been made bigger and better. The puzzle sections (left) see you trying to collect all the yellow chips, whilst trying not to collide with the red ones, every time you move you take away some of the green and if you touch an empty space then its game over, quite a simple idea, but can be quite difficult.

The shooting section also makes a welcome return, only this time its on a shooting range, where you must shoot the bad guys and miss the good guys, this is good fun, and it increases robo's firepower for the next platform level. The level is controlled by you moving the crosshairs around, which is quite reminiciant of scenes from the movies.
One downside of the platform areas is the newly implemented jumping system, which is needed for certain set pieces, such as jumping onto a moving hook or onto a moving conveyor belt. This makes it quite difficult, but not impossible and it doesnt ruin the game any.
