GHOSTBUSTERS 2
Five years after the first ghostbusters game, comes the sequal, released to coincide with the release of the movie of the same name.

And unlike most sequals this game takes a completly different direction to its predessor, which sadly isnt all that good a move...

GB2 is basically a set of three mini games, which are all fairly nice but never give any atmosphere to the game.
The first level is based on a scene in the movie, where Ray is sent dangling under the streets of New York and finds a river of slime.
You must control Ray as he swings left and right, you must dodge or shoot various different slimy ghosts which rise from under you.

Along the sides of the shaft are various different things to collect, like different sorts of weapon.
But the most important item is a slime scoop needed to collect slime at the bottom of the pit.
If you get too scared or your rope is cut, then its game over!
Once youve completed the first level its onto the next, which is a basic R-Type sort of game, with you controlling a fireball in front of the walking statue of liberty, you must shoot waves of different ghosts, sometimes coming up against a 'boss ghost', which is bigger than the rest.

The statue is moving due to a collection of mood slime that the GB's have collected, but that soon runs out so you need to collect some more, which is where your handily bunch of citizens come in, these are walking around near the feet of old libby, and you can send them out to collect slime dropped by the ghosts.
The last level is different again, with the view changing to an isometric type view.
You must follow out the final scenes of the movie, involving the baby and the evil painting.

This is a little difficult and if you havent seen the movie then it wont make a lot of sense.
You can change who you are controlling with a swift press of the spacebar, and this is the first time in both GB games that you actually get to control all four Ghostbusters.
So in general its a pretty short game, which although it tries quite hard it falls flat on its face.
Which is a real shame as the movie that it was based on had so many set pieces that would have made a great action based game.

The one major plus point is the graphics, these are pretty well drawn, and give a nice feeling of the movie.
But as ive said before, good graphics dont make a great game, and this proves it.
OVERALL 5/10
