Trail Ride August 3rd! Well, I have not had an extensive amount of adventures on the trail this year, but the ride on August 3rd that was organized by Will Lampert of the Eastern KY Ridgerunners. Due to the drought conditions, the mud was not as plentiful as I have seen it before, but with a little effort, I was able to adequately cover my TJ.
Of all the obstacles I attempted, I was able to complete all but the last hole. I should have known better after I watched a CJ5 wit 33X12.50's struggle but I had to try it. I have to send my special thanks to Eastern KY Ridge Runners for allow us to run wiith them on this great ride. ROADTRIP!!! jYes, the KYJeepster made his way to New England recently and I must say that the conditions were perfect and the area in western New England was awesome. But before you look go asking any additional questions, I must admit, I cheated. Yep, caught me red handed, but it was the only way at the time to accomplish the journey. I was working in the New York Metro Area and decided that I would take the opporunity to tavel up north on my free day off. So I hopped into my Avis Rental and away I went.
Yep, that is right I proceeded to take a 400 mile roadtrip in the blue Pontiac Vibe above. Everything about the little car made it very conducive to travel, but it took a but more effort to drive than the Jeeps. Anywho, it was a great trip and I discovered that the people of New England are a lot more like those of us from eastern KY and western WV than I have imagined. In fact my final determination is that I am wrong in referring to people as being North or South. Instead, the terminiolgy that I should use is that I am "rural" while the people that I work with in the north are more "urban." I am just glad that I discovered great culture that exists along the banks of the Connecticut River. I shall return one day and thie next time I will have my Jeep. |
