Another Year - Another Update.

So the holidays have passed and a new summer season awaits.  Hopefully if the weather clears and I can manage to spend the majority of my weekends at home then I can once again start wrenching on the Jeeps again.  But considering that I no longer work for myself and have once again settled into the role of a "corporate clone" so it is going to be a bit harder for me to say "To heck with it, I want too tinker on the TJ this weekend."

Winter has brought a few gains

Winter has not been a bad time for KYJ.  Santa Clause slipped a little low amperage AC arc welder under the Christmas tree so I will be able to fix al those things that could not be "bolted" in place.  I also came across a farm jack for use on the trail. [KYJ assumes that everyone knows that a "farm jack" and a "Hi Lift" jack are one and the same with the exception that a farm jack only cost $20.00, which is all a cheapskate like him will pay.-ed.]  Plus I also got my hands on a set of tamper resistant torx bits so I can rip apart throttle bodies and bore them out to flow more air to the four angry chipmunks under the hood of my TJ.  The XJ now has a chrome front bumper, but that was because of a slick parking lot and ice.

So now everyone knows I am dreaming of welding up a bunch of armor for TJ including bumpers and skids.  I hope someone has some stock purchased in Bondo corporation because if my body work is like my drywall skills, then this is going to be fun.

Planned Mods To Take Place This Summer

A couple of fellow Jeepers have been taking my temperature because high on my priority list is not a mod on my Jeep, but is the re-landscaping on my front yard. Pictures of the TJ flexing in the front yard is rather cool, but that brick wall is an eyesore.

After the wall is gone, the culverting installed, and the painting completed, it is time to start looking into this years budget on Jeep modifications.  The new laptop will cut a chunk out of the budget, but room will remain for new shocks, throttle body, throttle body spacer and a rear limited slip device for the TJ.  The XJ will get new tires but the lift is currently questionable.   And if I can know the rust off of my welding skills, then new bumpers will be installed quickly, otherwise I will be in the poorhouse buying welding rods and practicing my bead running skills.

So as I have said before, sit back and cozy up a 2 Litre (Jeep thing - hehehe)  bottle of Pepsi One if you can find it at the Wal-Marts and enjoy the ride.  It will be a doozy.

Peace and Happy Jeepin'!
