- I thought I would talk a bit about Final Fantasy
here, as most peeps don't have a clue what it is, and it doesn't help when
I'm forever talking about it!
- Firstly, Final Fantasy is the name of a game series
created by a computer company called SQUARESOFT. Since 1991 (I think)
SQUARESOFT have produced eleven Final Fantasy series games:
-
- Final Fantasy
- Final Fantasy II / IV
- Final Fantasy III
- Final Fantasy V
- Final Fantasy VI
- Final Fantasy IX
- Final Fantasy X
- Final Fantasy XI
-
- NB. The number is
usually displayed using Roman numerals, but you can still refer to them
using normal numbers i.e. 3, 6, 8. The abbreviated version is also
depicted as FF4, FFVII, FF10 etc. using normal numbers/Roman numerals.
- The Final Fantasy games are all role play / strategy
games, where you control the movements of several characters in a world
which you explore. However, Final Fantasy XI is an online game, which has
just come out in Japan. Instead of a story line like the other Final
Fantasy games, you interact with other characters and build your own
little world, kind of like Ultima Online, another online role play game.
(see www.uo.com/visitor
for more info on Ultima Online)
-
- Basically, every game is about trying
to save the world from some kind of evil power. In each game, you play a
role, and you become the main character. There's a storyline, and as you
progress through the story, you meet other characters, and they join your
group to try and save the world.
-
- There are also other Final Fantasy
related games:
-
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- Chocobo Racing
-
- Final Fantasy Tactics is like the other Final Fantasy
games, but the fight scenes are different, as in this game, you fight on a
grid, and you can only move a certain amount of
squares, and do certain actions according to a die that you throw. And
Chocobo Racing is....well, racing chocobos!
