Song of Solomon

{ACT 3 (Chapter 4, 1:1 - 7:9)
 PALACE OF JERUSALEM. SOLOMON WOOS SHULAMITE WOMAN BUT SHE REMAINS OCCUPIED WITH HER SHEPHERD LOVER}

Chapter 4
[S to SW]1~~ "Behold, thou art very beautiful, my love {NOT his love at all really - arrogance of the Wolf personality}. Behold, thou art fair."{over-complimenting}

[S to SW]~~ "Thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks" {face has symmetry - her frame of hair and eyes - compliment each other beautifully}.

[S to SW]~~"Thy hair is like a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead." {dark haired goats contrasted to the mountainside, blue sky above - beautiful colored hair}.

[S to SW]~~2 "Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them." {she has even, white teeth and is missing none}

[S]3~~ "Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet {beautiful colored lips}, and thy speech is beautiful; thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate {symmetry in side the fruit} within thy locks."

[S]4~~ "Thy neck is like the tower of David {again beautiful symmetry - perfect for her face and body} built for an armory, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men." {anything she wears on her neck is beautiful}

[S]5~~ "Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins {well matched}, which feed among the lilies."

[SW]6~~ "Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense."{she will remember her SL to protect her-fragrance of memories!}

[S]7~~ "You . . . completely beautiful, my love {Solomon's egoism showing again}; there is no spot in thee." {her soul and body match in excellent beauty per Solomon}.

[S]8~~ "Come with me from Lebanon, my bride."{S is taking credit to himself - SW is NOT his bride in reality- Solomon assumes no woman would ever turn down his proposal of marriage}

[S]~~ "With me from Lebanon, look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards."{Solomon apparently has 5 lodges where he is saying he will take her on the honeymoon - doesn't ask HER where she wants to go - HE wants to go to the mountains!}

[S]9~~{WHY he wants to marry her - she has robbed his heart} "Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister {means 'woman'}, my bride. Thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes {the way she looks}, with one chain of thy neck." {the styles she wears}

[S]10~~ "How beautiful is thy love, my sister, my spouse!"{he assumes she is responding to him even though he has given her nothing to respond to}

[S]~~"How much better is thy love than wine! And the smell of thine ointments than all spices!"{she smells good!}

[S]11~~ "Thy lips, O my bride, drop as the honeycomb." {thinking of having a kiss with her}

[S] ~~"Honey and milk are under thy tongue {they French kissed in those days}."

[S] ~~" And the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon."

[S]12~~"A garden enclosed is my sister, my bride; a spring closed up, a fountain sealed." {a virgin}

[S]13-15~~{S has worked himself up to passion though she has not responded to him} "Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard. Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices."{half these things Solomon likes to eat, other half he likes to smell - all relates to passion}

[S]~~ "A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon."

[SW]16~~ {As she pushes Solomon away } "Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out."{cool this guy off!}

[SW]~~"Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits."{SW is thinking of, and only wants, her right man - SL}
