I
Corinthians
Chapter
15 {Continued}
40~~
There are also celestial bodies
{these have light inside - light bearing bodies - i.e. the sun},
and,bodies
terrestrial {light reflecting bodies i.e. the moon}.
But
the glory of the celestial is one,
and
the glory of the terrestrial is another.
{Note:
This refers to the different rewards in heaven based on following
God's plan on earth - some will be light bearing beings others will
have to reflect the light of others, but all will experience no more
pain no more suffering.}
{SideNote:
Adam and Eve were probably 'clothed in light' before the fall. After
the fall, they were naked and sought fig leaves.}
41~~
There is one glory of the sun {celestial},
and
another glory of the moon {terrestrial};
and,
another of the same kind of glory of the stars.
For
one star differs from another star in glory {shining}.
{Note:
We will all be different in eternity - a different glory or glamour
- we will all share the same type of body that Christ has, but there
will be a different level of glamour.}
42~~
So also is the resurrection of the dead.
It
is sown in corruption {the plant dies for the seed to grow}.
It
is raised in incorruption {immortality - not subject to death}.
43-45~~
It is sown without honor.
It
is raised in glory or glamour {with shining glory}.
It
is sown in weakness {that causes the death}.
It
is raised in power {and can not die}. 44~~
It
is sown a natural {soulish} body.
It
is raised a spiritual body {clothed in light}.
There
is a natural body,
and,
there is a spiritual body! 45~~
And
so it is written {Genesis 2:7},
"The
first man Adam became a living soul.
The
last Adam {Christ} was made a living spirit."
46~~Howbeit,
that was not first which is spiritual,
but
that which is natural?
And,
afterward, that which is spiritual?
47~~
The first man {Adam}
is
from the source of the Earth,
made
of earth.
The
second man {Jesus} is from heaven.
48~~
As is the earthy,
such
are they also that are earthy {all bodies are as Adam was}.
And, as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49~~
And, as we have worn the image of the earthy
{our soul 'wears' our body today},
we
shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
{Note:
Our soul will wear a new heavenly body exactly like that of Christ.}
50~~
Now this I say, brethren,
that
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
Neither
does corruption {human body subject to death}
inherit
incorruption {must have an eternal body to live in eternity}.
51~~
Behold, I show you a mystery
{rapture of the church was not foretold to the Old Testament
believers}.
We
shall not all sleep {not all believers shall die},
but
we shall all be changed {believers at the rapture shall be
changed without dying}.
52~~
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump,
for
the trumpet shall sound,
and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible {resurrected body},
and
we {those alive at the point of the rapture}
shall
be changed.
53~~
For this corruptible {human body}
must
put on incorruption {spiritual body},
and
this mortal must put on immortality.
54~~
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,
and
when this mortal shall have put on immortality,
then
{the rapture of the Church}
shall
be brought to pass the saying that is written,
"Death
is swallowed up in victory".
55~~
O death, where is your sting?
O
grave, where is your victory?
56~~
The sting of death is sin {reference to the old sin nature}.
And the strength of the sin {nature} is the {Mosaic} law.
{Note:
The Mosaic Law demonstrates we do have a sin nature and need a Savior.}
57~~
But grace to God,
Who
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
{Note:
All the glory goes to God - it is Who and What God is NOT who and
what we are.}
58~~
Therefore, my beloved brethren,
keep
on becoming steadfast
{stabilized in time take in doctrine consistently},
unmovable
{production in time- apply doctrine to your experience},
always abounding in the work of the Lord {purpose in time},
for
you know that your labor is not empty in the Lord.
