The Kernersville YMCA Roller Hockey League was formed sometime around 1992. Games were originally played on the tennis courts behind the Y. Around 1996, the Sport Court flooring was installed allowing games that actually resembled hockey to be played. There have been improvements and upgrades throughout the years including the installation of an electronic scoreboard and netting to protect spectators. Our rink measures about 65 x 120 ft.
We play our games with a puck specially designed to slide on the Sport Court floor. Due to the size of our rink (it's slightly undersized), we are not affiliated with USA Hockey. Despite this, we follow USA Hockey rules. A copy of USA Hockey rules can be found here. |
