About the Gallery     Interview with the Creators     Authors of this Page

The Art Gallery at Kennebecasis Valley High School is like a child to Mrs. McCarroll an Mrs. Woolsey, two teachers at the school. The Gallery has been an idea they have been sitting on for some time, trying to put it into action. Their goal is to create a public gallery that will display the work of local students and the public. With the Gallery they hope to provide learning opportunities of a kind that is rarely practiced, learning through engaging in a new, creative experience. With this kind of experience, they hope to encourage students to think outside the box, and let their creative minds run loose.

The process of attempting to get the Gallery into a working mode is very much a pilgrimage in itself. These two enthusiastic teachers have thrown themselves into a journey in which they hope to introduce a new concept of learning to their community. During their journey, they have fought for the right to bring the gallery into the school, for funding to do so, and have even indulged in some further education themselves. The process has very much proved to be a great learning experience for the two of them and everybody involved.

In order to understand the intentions, motivations, and hopes of the creative minds behind the gallery, an interview was conducted with Mrs McCarroll and Mrs. Woolsey.
