Country Poem

By: Samuel Kvale

I Ain't never known that you would ever find out

Skippin' down mainstreet, I'm lookin' pretty handsome like.
I came along a pretty lass who seemed to me a fancy class.
Now I ain't one for being cold, but this little cookie just took a hold, and
Before I could squirm away, I decided that my wife ain't got to knooooooow
Yeah! She ain't got to know.

So I went home to my lovin' miss, her's eyes the color of autumn mist,
Two days pass it's mighty fine, quite a girl as to be mine.
And she ain't never known, no, she ain't never known.
Phone rings dinga ling sister calls to stop on by.
I thought it would be the first time that I had ever met her.

She opened the door to my greeting hand, soon replaced by my running feet.
Just happened to be her sister, oops, it just happened to be her sister.
It seems the talk was quikly passed, she knew all about it at last.
But she ain't got to know where I went, no she ain't got to know.
Soon I crawled back for a swig o' whiskey, but I wasn't very sneaky.

I dodged a knife, a burning post, but I couldn't dodge that tractor.
She crushed my leg up mighty fine, now I call that a factor.
I'm sorry girl I didn't know, that you would ever find out.
Yeah! I ain't never known that you would ever find out.
Yeah! I ain't never known that you would ever find out.

Repeat last stanza (until line dancer fall over)
