Democracy and the Internet

Because of the rapid growth in technology in the US and the rest of the world, involvement in politics and government has become much more easier and accessible to the people.

If one so chooses, he could go on the internet and find information on a political debate instantly. Information could be uploaded to the internet instantly, providing the public with fast information about the current progress of elections, debates, etc.

But because information can be uploaded by anyone at anytime, the reliability of the information is questionable. If you are to do research on politics, it is good to use more than one source of information about the topic so you could compared and contrast the multiple sources so it is easier to identify the reliable information. for example, the popular online encyclopedia wikipedia is a good source for information. However, the reliability of the information is questionable because anyone could upload the information.
