Starch - Basic Info Stuffs

yes this is the page that will give you a bit of soemt of the informations to fill you in about this compound

Starch is a common name applied to the white granular, (or powdery), tasteless, odorless complex carbohydrate with a chemical formula of C6H10O5. Another name is Amylodextrin.
Starch is a heterogeneous material composed of the glucose polymers, amylose and amylopectin, usually found in the starch granules of a plant. Glycogen is starch obtained by animals from plants and is stored in the animal's body. Since starch is made up of two types of polymers, the molecular weight and structure depends on the source and the type of polymer is comes from. Since starch decomposes in water, there is no melting, boiling point and density.
Since the particle size, is too large, it does not pass through membranes. When a hydrolysis test of starch is given, starch gives off molecules of glucose. Meaning, when starch molecules are broken apart by taking out water molecules it produces glucose.
The percent composition mass of Carbon in starch is 44.4%, Hydrogen is 6.3%, and Oxygen is 49.3%
