This document deals with the wishes and rules that must be followed when dealing with "kustzeilen" webpage documents or any other material that is the (intellectual) property of either Wouter Hijink or which is being declared to fall under this framework of rules.

This framework, from now on named "protocol", aims at regulating the use of its documents in such a way that conflicts are avoided and that all involved parties, both creators and end users, benefit optimally from publication.

All authors can publicize under this protocol thus benefiting from its uniform way of presenting information and the reviewing of ones own publications by their colleques. End users will benefit much in the same way, but mostly by the information being made available and made free for private use. Commercial use will be possible but requires negociating the terms for it first. It is my personally wish that these pages will develop into the interface used by a community of enthousiasts, authors, reviewers, researchers, users and just interested persons in the field of wind driven vehicals place where information between different fields of wind driven vehicals is exchanged, leading to improvements in all branches and ofcourse fun.

* Credits will be used at all time when available. Only exceptions too this rule are :
                - The (intellectual) owner of the material has agreed to ommitting the credits.
                - The material is presented without credits in its original form.
                - The material is publicly regarded as common knowlegde.

* Direct linking to the original source is preferred. Only founded considerations may overrule this guideline. A coverpage containing the reviewing data and comments or a HTML frame page around the material is allowed and in most cases preferred..

* All will use the presented material with common courtecy and in agreement with the intend of the (intellectual) owner(s) or authors.

* (Intellectual) owners and authors accept in basis the free private use of the material. This excludes commercial and public usage of the material.

* (Intellectual) owners and authors shall restrict themself in demanding compensation for usage of their material. They shall accept that most usage will be free and unlimited.They will only demand compensation in the more extreme cases where their material is exploited excessively.

* (intellectual) owners, authors and the community may ask for voluntary compensation to support their efforts. The user is in no way required to heave this request, it remains voluntarily.

* Excessive requesting for voluntary compensation is not allowed. Onwers or authors shall restrain themselfs with respect to this.

* Authors shall retrict themselfs to the layed down uniform layout standard.This standard shall in turn only regulated general layout features. The rest is left free.

* Any considerable progress made in a particular field that was made possible to a large extend by the kustzeilen material must be disclosed and publicized in detail on this webpage. The (intellectual) owner of this progress can however negociate the shape, form and time of this as to proportionally gain of his efforts. Exception to this rule is the case where the used kustzeilen material and progress is (intellectually) owned and made by the same person.

This field is used to display the category in which the related document falls with respect to its use and its public use in particular. The default rules apply when this field is absent or left empty.
Private use is largely allowed unless it is layed down otherwise and (intellectual) owners and authors will restrict themself in limiting this. This means that the material can very often be used in your personal projects intended for your own use only. The number of times you use it in this context is in principle unlimited. These liberties are revoked when usage can be described as excessive. This can be the case when the user is generating disproportional personal gains by using the kustzeilen material with respect to his own efforts.

It is underlined that the indication that is valid at a particular time is the one that is specified in the most recent version of the original document that exist and is publized. The standardized indications of "Copyright" up till now are :

* Restricted freeware
* Shareware
* Restricted shareware
* Specified by other party
* Default (empty "copyright" field)

The indication will now be described in more detail. When a particular definition is vage in a particular instance than the default indication is applicable. This indication is the most restricted one.

Freeware

* All use is allowed apart from general concepts like plagiarism and claiming (intellectual) ownership. The last prevents filling for a Patent, in case you're wondering. The last is even standard EU patent law.

* Free and unlimited copying and reproducing is allowed

* Naming the true credits of the materal is much appreciated but not necessary.

Restricted Freeware

* Embodies all the limiting restrictions specified under "Freeware".

* All (non excessive and non commercial) private use is allowed.

* All copying and reproducing is allowed as long as this does not involve commercial exploitation and the credits are quoted or displayed in the generally accepted scientific manner. Copying and storing the whole document satisfies the last condition.

* All commercial use of the material itself must be negociated with the (intellectual) owner or author.

Shareware

* Embodies all the limiting restrictions specified under "Freeware" and "Restricted freeware"

* All (non excessive and non commercial) private use is allowed but it is limited to just one use at the time. Multiple uses must be negociated with the (intellectual) owner or author. Multiple uses are allowed when so specified by the (intellectual) owner or author.

* All copying and reproducing is allowed as long as the material is kept in its original presentation and shape. The material or chained group of material shall be considered as a single object in this respect.

* All commercial use of the material falls under generally accepted way doing business and should be negociated with (intellectual) owner or author were some form of paying compensation can be expected.

Restricted shareware

* Embodies all the limiting restrictions specified under "Freeware", "Restricted freeware" and "Shareware"

* Usage for (non excessive and non commercial) learning and a single private project at the time is allowed.

* It is not allowed to copy or reproduce the material. The material is presented online and only caching and buffering on your harddrive together with making (public) links to the material is allowed.

* All use outside these restrictions must be negociated with the (intellectual) owner or author.

Specified by other party

This indication is when the material does not fall under the Kustzeilen protocol and is protected under a protocol of another party. The last maybe the copyright law of a specific country. This indication is also used when the material is linked into the kustzeilen webpage or chained to it via an external (public) link. The last is the case with coverpages to documents on other webpages. It is the responsibility of the user to find out the restrictions on using this info himself. Sometimes this info is supplied in the "comments" field of the coverpage.

Default

This indication is in effect when there is no or no other indication specified. The restriction for this indication are specified at the top of this document, under a special header and in a seperate paragraph.
