The FX-one I sailed was a prototype version that was given to the sailing resort Wildwind in Greece by Hobie cat Europe. I haven't found any differences between this prototype and the production version. For now I will only give the pictures of the second race which was held in light to light medium windspeed. This is the reason for the big amount of twist in my mainsail on both the upwind and downwind courses. In these wind the wind blows at a different angle to the sails relative to mastheight. The angle of attack to the centreline of the boat near the boom is very small and has it maximum at the top.
The second race was the best of the series. We were 2nd or 1st over the startline, completed the first triangle ahead of the fleet, lost ground to the genaker boards on the loop that followed and protected the final 3 spot placing on elapsed time (1st Hobie Tiger, 2nd Laser 4000) by defensive sailing. On handicap (UK portmouth) , we lost out to two more Hobie 16's and finished 5th on handicap.
More pictures will be added later. |
