Radio Kurtodrome 97
Thirty minutes of downloads and streams (all files are legal, the downloads are marked 'D'), that is Radio Kurtodrome. A short odyssey of nonsense and bands you may or may not know.
COCOROSIE - Bear Hides and Buffalo (D)
We begin this edition with a song from CocoRosie's album Noah's Ark, kindly offered by the German site Triton Promotion.
THE BLACK HEART PROCESSION - Not Just Words (D)
Good news is always welcome and the fact that the Black Heart Procession have released a new cd, The Spell, can only be classified as good news. This MP3 is offered to you by the always trustworthy Insound.
THE FIERY FURNACES - Benton Harbor Blues (D)
The Fiery Furnaces are apparently trying to be the most prolific band in the world. After they released 2 albums in 2005 (okay, technically one was an EP, but it counted more songs than most albums will serve you) they're back with an album called Bitter Tea. Another Insound download. With thanks.
MS JOHN SODA - Outlined View (D)
Four years after their last album (and three after their last EP) Ms John Soda are back with a brand new album, Notes and the Like. Ms John Soda is still the combination of Stefanie Böhm (Couch) and Micha Acher (ex-Notwist). The album is out on Morr Music, the download is offered to you by Intro.
BUILT TO SPILL - Still Flat (D)
The good news is that Built To Spill have released a new album after more than five years. The bad news: we couldn't find audio proof of You in Reverse. Never mind, turns out we never played "Still Flat", one of their old songs (from The Normal Years), which we were able to find on Insound's site.
CAMERA OBSCURA - Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken (stream)
The Spanish label Elefant has a nice tradition in uploading full songs in Real Player streams and it's high time we use that wonderful system again: Camera Obscura have pleasured us with a new album, Let's Get Out Of This Country, which also includes this track, the band's current single.
THE KILLS - No Wow (mstrkrft rmx) (stream)
And now a remix: "No Wow" remixed into a more upbeat version. Mstrkrft are two Canadians who appear to hate vowels. One of them plays in Death From Above 1979. This remix is offered to you by the VPRO.
MATMOS - Roses and Teeth for Ludwig Wittgenstein (D)
This MP3 is offered to you by Matador, Matmos's label. The band has a new album out and it's called The Rose Has Teeth In The Mouth Of A Beast. This song has teeth too and it's the final track in this edition for you to devour. We hope to return soon!
