Radio Kurtodrome 96: LIVE special
You may have noticed the Kurtodrome site is a bit quiet: we're working on a new concept to give you a new sort of Kurtodrome... it takes some time. Bear with us, we're not gone. To prove that: here's a new Radio Kurtodrome with live performances taped by the VPRO. Good enough for a few hours of good music.

CALEXICO - Live in Club DeSmet - 07/04/06 (73 min)
Let us begin with a recent concert. Very recent, by the way. The nice folks of Calexico were in the Netherlands last week and while they were there, they thought it might be a good idea to play a concert. Good thinking, chaps! Then again, their new album Garden Ruin is out now in Europe (and later this week it'll be released in the USA too).
THE NOTWIST - Live in Paradiso - 07/03/2002 (58 min)
The label 'Labels' had a label night (still following me?) in 2002 and The Notwist performed. Good enough for us to dig up four years later!

NOUVELLE VAGUE - live at Eurosonic - 13/01/06 (39 min)
Like many hypes it isn't easy to find audio proof of Nouvelle Vague. But we managed to find their performance at Eurosonic in January of this year. Now we can finally decide for ourselves whether we should or shouldn't believe the hype that is Nouvelle Vague.

GRANDADDY - Live in DeSmet 05/04/06 (13 min)
And now we say goodbye, not only to this episode of Radio Kurtodrome, but also to Grandaddy. We have a copy of their official message to the fans. It reads: " yeah, well i guess that's it. don't really know what to say, and maybe there just aren't any words to properly express my feelings about the past 14 years or so. it just goes too deep. maybe i'll post something more proper and detailed sometime in the future, but for now i just want to tell you all thank you for being there for and with us. we'll never forget you and we'll be forever grateful to you for being friends and supporters of our dumb band. please excuse me while i limp off into the sunset." So now, because we still can, 13 minutes of Grandaddy as performed for the VPRO last week. Many thanks to the VPRO for putting this online all the time. We here at Radio Kurtodrome always enjoy the concerts. Check out the VPRO's site for much more wonderful audio. For now, this is the end of this Radio Kurtodrome. Excuse us while we rework the site. We'll talk to you soon!
