Radio Kurtodrome 91
Thirty minutes of downloads and streams (all files are legal, the downloads are marked 'D'), that is Radio Kurtodrome. A short odyssey of nonsense and bands you may or may not know.

AMERICAN ANALOG SET - Born on the cusp (D)
Radio Kurtodrome favourites American Analog Set are back. We already told you they had a new album out, we already played you lots of tracks, by now a simple click should suffice to make you download this track (this MP3 is offered by Insound).

BOARDS OF CANADA - Chromakey Dreamcoat (D)
Another download courtesy of Better Propaganda. Let's just say they distribute the better music. Boards of Canada are living proof that if you don't invest in interviews and press releases either people will not know you or (in their case) people will think the oddest things of you. We will add to the confusion by not telling you anything about them, except that their third release is called The Campfire Headphase and is generally considered their best album.

YONDERBOI - Ohne Chanteuse (stream: VPRO)
The stream you're about to hear is four years old: "Ohne Chanteuse" can be found on Yonderboi's debut album. Now there's a new album out and it's called Splendid Isolation. It's really good and we'd urge you to listen: Yonderboi has grown and his second album is a definite improvement on his debut (which, we must stress, was good too). Sadly we couldn't find any audio proof of the new album, so we decided to play an old track.

BROADCAST - America's Boy (D)
Tender Buttons is out on Warp Records and it's Broadcast's fourth album. Radio Kurtodrome had a lengthy debate as to whether to plug this after our painful encounter on my birthday (the band performed in Brussels on that day and whereas before leaving Antwerp we were told there were still tickets available, upon arriving at the Botanique we got the bad news the concert was sold out. Thus marking the 2005 edition quite on my Suckiest Birthday list. Then again, we can't blame this cock-up by the concert hall on the band, so here's a download. If there will be other downloads in the future, we don't know... the whole thing did give the concept of Broadcast a more painful place in my brain.

DEERHOOF - Wrong Time Capsule (D)
A new album by Deerhoof is always welcomed. This album is called The Runners Four and it's distributed by Kill Rock Stars.

CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH - Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood (D)
No need to run to the record store to get your hands on the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah album: the album will be released in January. But you could've seen them live... well, not always: "We're back from a short trip through England and Scotland and Wales and Holland and Belgium where we didn't play but did get a flat tire." Go Belgium!

CHRIS WHITLEY - As Day Is Long (D)
I'm glad I managed to get a song by Chris Whitley into this Radio Kurtodrome without it sounding out of place. As you may have heard Chris Whitley has recently died (if you want to know more). You can find this track on his album Soft Dangerous Shores.

THE ROBOCOP KRAUS - Freemasons In The House (D)
Accidently found when we were looking for Tocotronic material. We've been planning to include a Robocop Kraus song from as early as late 2004 and somehow we always forgot or couldn't include them. So right now, at the very end of edition 91, we finally pulled it off. Champagne! Until the next edition: ciao!
