Radio Kurtodrome 78: WIRED SPECIAL
Never before did we have so many problems compiling an edition: apart from the usual lack of online material, we're now experiencing the additional problem of artists who'll only make their material available for iTunes (as nice as it is, artists should bear in mind not everyone owns a iPod). And then we found this: a Wired special of artists who've released a song for a Wired compilation.
It's more than being nice, it's also a statement: "These musicians are saying that true creativity needs to be open, fluid, and alive. When it comes to copyright, they are pro-choice. Here are 16 songs that encourage people to play with their tunes, not just play them."
Radio Kurtodrome tries to find legal and free songs (either MP3 or stream) of music, because we believe in the internet as a means of discovering new music. The internet as a teaser or a sampler. We will continue the fight for new and legal music and welcome initiatives like the Wired cd/collection.
Edition 78 is therefore just a link to the Wired special (in a way: also a statement). A regular edition of Radio Kurtodrome should appear within a few days. For now: enjoy this!
