Radio Kurtodrome 64: Reviving Pukkelpop
Three of the acts we definitely liked at the Pukkelpop festival are back for an edition. As it happens, those bands also played at Dutch festivals (either Lowlands or Pinkpop), so we visited the VPRO site once more and listened to their concerts over there. We liked what we heard so much we decided to make a Radio Kurtodrome edition out of it. So here we go...

KAIZERS ORCHESTRA - Live at Pinkpop 2004 (67 min)
Unless you want to hear both announcers (the organizer who said there's a lot of robberies and an insect plague nd the woman who introduces the band) we advise you to skip the first two and a half minutes. But then Kaizers Orchestra arrive: of course it's even more impressive to see them then to hear them, but what a good band. They're from Norway, but apparently the singer's accent is so regional even the Norwegians don't understand it. The band hits the stage with gypsy music and an alarm, proving once more they are our favourite band of the Apocalypse.

FRANZ FERDINAND - Live at Pinkpop 2004 (54 min)
Franz Ferdinand were the only band who played both the biggest mainstream and alternative festivals in Belgium and Holland (Werchter/Pinkpop vs. Pukkelpop/Lowlands). Then again, they're excellent. So here they are... Come on, they're the biggest breakthrough band of the year, don't expect us to introduce them.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - Live at Lowlands 2004 (54 min)
There are two reasons to put this in the show: 1) At Pukkelpop I missed most of the LCD Soundsystem due to having my foot checked by doctors. 2) It finally enables us to play "Yeah" on Radio Kurtodrome (it's the final song). That's it for this edition: a regular will be uploaded in ten days. Hasta la vista.
