Radio Kurtodrome 48
Hello. You're listening to Radio Kurtodrome, half an hour of music on the internet. All the links are either downloads (D) or streams, but all the music is legal and we link to it because this music deserves being heard by you, our dear and cherished listener.

TO ROCOCO ROT - Telema (D)
Taken from their 1999 album The Amateur View (out on CitySlang), To Rococo Rot open this edition of Radio Kurtodrome, just like they'll open for Stereolab on March 9 (Botanique, Brussels).

PATRICK WOLF - Bloodbeat
Another stream courtesy of the VPRO, not that surprising as they were the ones who plugged young master Patrick Wolf most. Patrick Wolf was only 18 or 19 when he made his record Lycantrophy, but sounds quite mature. Patrick Wolf will play in Brussels at the Domino Festival (7 April), so let's hope more people will discover him.

DNTEL - (This Is) The Dream Of Evan And Chad (Safety Scissors Spilled My Drink Mix) (D)
Straight from the good folks over at Epitonic comes this download from DNTEL. This is the song where Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard cooperated with DNTEL's Jimmy Tamborello for the very first time. As most of you know, this eventually led to The Postal Service. You'll hear the "(This is) The Dream of Evan and Chad" in the Safety Scissors remix.

STEREO TOTAL - C'est La Mort (D)
More oddness with our favourite Eurotrash combo Stereo Total. The label Kill Rock Stars (also home to a.o. Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill and Deerhoof) are now distributing Stereo Total on the other side of the big pond, which calls for a celebration. Let's celebrate with this downloadable "C'est La Mort" (originally found on Oh Ah)!

FRANZ FERDINAND - Darts of pleasure
Franz Ferdinand sadly didn't make it to our Democratische 99 of 2003, but they won't mind as they're being considerably hyped at the moment. This is another VPRO stream as the MP3 on the band's website is incomplete. Art-poppers Franz Ferdinand are from Glasgow, traditionally not the worst place for art pop to come from. Their German is allegedly superfantastisch!

THE MOUNTAIN GOATS - Palmcorder Yajna (D)
We Shall All Be Healed is the title of the new Mountain Goats cd, an album containing interesting titles such as "Letter From Belgium" and "Your Belgian Things". Right here, however, we'll play "Palmcorder Yajna". We Shall All Be Healed comes severely recommended by the way.

THE FRENCH - Gabriel At The Airport
A while ago we promised you another track by The French, the band with a few people from Hefner, so here it is. The album is still called Local Information and still out on Too Pure.

ELECTRELANE - Gone Under Sea
Also out on Too Pure (and also played in an earlier Radio Kurtodrome) is Electrelane's new album. At first we didn't want to play two artists from the same label back to back, but this song convinced us to do otherwise. Electrelane's album is called The Power Out.

FUCK - Fuck Motel (D)
And if all that wasn't enough, we'll finish with an old song from Fuck. "Fuck Motel" can be found on Pardon My French, the album released in 1997 by Matador Records. Radio Kurtodrome will be back in 10 days or so.
