Radio Kurtodrome 8: this one's for Tori & Tara
Let's face it: Radio Kurtodrome I and Radio Kurtodrome II were inspired by the good work by the people from MBR and Audio Ether. A site that sadly had to close (read: hiatus). That is why this eighth Radio Kurtodrome 'New Style' is dedicated to Tori and Tara. Sadly for them, they couldn't choose the music, so they'll have to be satisfied with a dedication and this lot of tracks (tracks with a 'D' are downloadable) ...

JACK MORGAN - Little Mouse (D)
Jack Morgan is a lab assistant over at the BBC's Look Around You, the science programme that taught us that contemporary songs are written by a music computer, consisting of lots of buttons and DNA samples from the composers Gilbert and Sullivan. Jack Morgan showed us how the computer worked and his attempt became the very catchy single 'Little Mouse'. Look Around You aired for the last time on December 5 (sniff). Thanks, professors! Thanps!

THE HERBALISER FEAT. BLADE - Time to build (D)
And now for real music. High time to play some Ninja Tune stuff in Radio Kurtodrome. Weird that these computer wizards don't have more material on the Web.

LADYTRON - Seventeen
Ladytron, MBR and Radio Kurtodrome favourites, are back with a new album and they're not sorry the Kurtodrome computer suffered a breakdown and this single is now the Video of the Fortnight. It's true we could've chosen another track for Radio Kurtodrome but... 1) it fitted nicely and 2) this gives us a cheap excuse to play more Ladytron in the near future.

GONZALES - Let's Groove Again
Just like we've played Gonzales before. But have we told you lately that the Gonzales concert in Antwerp was fantastic? No. And have we ever played you a Gonzales song where Gonzales is assisted by Feist, the talented lady who helped making his Antwerp show a success? No. So let's groove again! (which, accidently, is also the title of this track)

THE BRUCES - The Cold War (D)
And so we found ourselves at Misra Records who have released Alex McManus's latest album. Alex is not only The Bruces, he also worked together with Lambchop, Vic Chestnutt and Bright Eyes. Instant credibility!

AQUALUNG - Strange and Beautiful (I'll put a Spell on you)
Sometimes music takes a long time to get across the pond. We'd never heard of Aqualung and now we read this song has already been a successful single in the UK. In Germany the record will be released in January, so we're hopeful.

KAITLYN NI DONOVAN - The Hunter
Hush Records had an idea: why not make a tribute album to Bjrk? But the plan seemed doomed from the start and eventually they gave up and placed the 9 finished songs on their website for you to listen to and download. Donations are welcome if you liked their work. Kaitlyn Ni Donovan covered 'Hunter' (and seemed to have retitled it). Watch out for a tropical remix of 'It's Oh So Quiet'.

THE DELGADOS - Woke From Dreaming
Calling your album Hate says something. The Delgados aren't the cheeriest of the bunch and at the end of this edition of Radio Kurtodrome they awake from their dream. And still dream on. Which is nice.
