Y A S U M I C O N, ' 0 6
Saturday Being that this Con was located a good hour to two hours away from my house, I only went Saturday. As with most of my Cons, I went and got a ride from Xandra. (For those who follow my stories, yes, this Xandra was based on my best friend Xandra.) I got to Xandra's house at around ten figuring we'd want to leave as early as possible. When I get there, Xandra was finishing up her Julia Chang (from Tekken 5) cosplay (I was Yuuen again). She still had to fully put together the winged necklace and give her denim skirt belt buckles. *sweatdrop* If you bother to read these accounts, you've probably picked up Xandra's procrastination. So when we finally get out the door, it's like... eleven. Well, we got there at around twelve. When we got inside and settled, I braided Xandra's hair into the double braids and she used my bracelet to strand the rainbow-patterned tube of fabric onto her hair. We met an awesome Leon (from KHII). She had a mini-gunblade. We found that Vic Mignogna is a fanboy. No, really. A fan gave him an Ed action figure and he was like, "You thought I must have had this one. But I don't have the one with the blade!!!" He was so happy. He's also a Christian and a singer. He has three CDs. I bought one. It's called, If These Walls Could Talk. The only good song was #1: Italian Boys. If you want to download this, ask me. We saw Graveyard of the Fireflies: a Hayao Miyazaki Film. It was sad. Really, really, really sad. I wanted to cry. We had a concert by Piano Squall (his website is on my links page). He gave us a spiffy poster that cost $5 and in which the money went to Muscular Sclerosis (his grandma died from it). It was really funny cause the staff wanted us to leave and my brother hid under the table. They never found him. After a lot of people filed in, he non-discreetly went to a seat. It was great. At this Con, I bought HYDE's Faith album, Vic Mignogna's If These Walls Could Talk album, NANA ナナ the live action movie, and Piano Squall's poster. I noticed that I haven't really been buying manga or anime at Cons. It seems that I, usually, already have everything. But I had been looking. They just don't carry the things I don't have. Oh well. I'll still buy the albums. There was some happiness at this Con that was not present at the last: someone actually recognized me as Yuuen! I was so happy. She even asked for my photo! ^_^ It was the best part. And I got to play Guilty Gear X2. My favorite character from the game is Bridget. Bridget is a guy. He was raised in a village in Britain were twins were considered a bad omen and they were both killed. So in order to save their son's life, they raised 'Bridget' as a girl. I want to cosplay him. So I walked into the Game Room and they had G Gear. So I said, "Oh my God, lemme play! Do I have to pay?" "No, It's free hour." "Yes! Okay, I warn you, I've only played as Sol Badguy and that was on the arcade version." They laughed (they're all guys). I pick Bridget. I play as Bridget. I get my ass handed to me as Bridget. Oh well. "Damn it! But I will still cosplay 'em!" "You know Bridget's a guy, right?" "Duh. Everyone's gay for Bridget." Then I went home. THE END.
