Friday
On Friday, I got up at 3. Went back to bed; got up and 3:30. Got dressed as Duo, had light breakfast of a Poptart, packed last minute items and was waiting outside for Shinji and Kin. They got there at about 4:45, we put all my stuff in the car, and was on our way to Tampa. It was still pretty dark and we were awake until Alagator Alley. Then Kin fell alseep and I starting listening to music and talking to Shinji. Shinji's mom was driving. The whole way there was mostly driving and nothing too interesting happened until we got into Tampa. We were initially going to find the Convention Center and go in but we decided to check on our hotel room anyway. So we went to the Hyatt and they gave us a room that was for handicapped. This didn't really bother us, but it did bother Shinji's mom because it didn't have a tub. So we eventually switched out of that room into an identical room that had a tub.
We didn't get to that Convention Center until about 12. Kin wanted to straighten her whole head and she still had to get dressed. Shinji was dressed, but she wanted to straigthen parts of her hair too. I only had to straigthen my bangs. So Shinji and I finished first and took Kin's cell. We got to the Convention Center and Shinji, who had never been before, was awed. I was alittle awed too because the body count had just about doubled since last year. Seriously. I think it was becuase gamers were there. This was the first year Metro had incorperated video games. So, there were quite a lot more people. We found Shinbo and Hairo, two of my friends and they helped Shinji and I get our passes. We found out we couldn't get Kin's so we deicded to go back to our hotel to get her. She was supposed to have called us but we found her cell on Silent. And then, when we got under the bridge, it started raining. That wasn't good because Shinji and I had straigthen our hair. So we told Kin when she called, to bring the umbrellas. So we saw Kin and we walked to the Convention Center with umbrellas and when we got there, Kin bought her pass. Then we went to see Anime Idol after walking around a bit. Anime Idol didn't really have a lot of songs that I knew. Someone sang Utada Hikaru's Sakura DOROPPU. It sucked. The best song was the chick that sang a Pokemon song and the last chick that sang a song that got stuck in my head.
Then we went to see Scott McNeil. We always have to see Scott McNeil. The panal was pretty straight forward. Afterwards, Scott had a signing that we got in line for so Shinji could get her Duo poster signed and I got my Metro booklet signed, and we wanted pictures. When we got up there, Shinji got her poster signed first. I asked him if he remembered me. He didn't at first, remember my name, so I said I'd give him a hint. "V" was it. And he said, "I know you're 'With a V', but I don't remember your real name." I said, "I was looking for 'With a V'." So he remembered what he signed my Gundam Wing Card Deck with and followed it up with "'With a V', You still... totally ROCK!!! Scott McNeil." And then we took three pictures, Shinji with him, me with him, and the both of us with him. And then we went to eat.
We went to Wendy's and got dinner. I ordered a Cheeseburger, no pickles, Small Fries, and a Vanilla Frosty Float. After we were done eating we went to CVS to get batteries, and make-up for Kin. Then we went back to the hotel and changed for the Rave. I wore my half-size, black, ninja yukata. Shinji wore a camo outfit and Kin wore a JRocker outfit. We got the Con and the Masquarade Ball still hadn't finished. We waiting for two hours for the Masque to end. While waiting we met up with Shinbo and Hairo agian and hung out with them for the rest of the night. We had a great time at the rave. And then we went to the Hyatt and I fell alseep twice on the floor waiting for Shinji and Kin to finish their showers. So they helped me to bed and we slept.
Saturday
In the morning, we got up at 10 and started getting ready for breakfast. I wore Kin's jeans and found I was a -1 for the second time. We had breakfast and then went up to the room to get changed for the Con. I went as Yuuen from Wild Rock and Shinji went in her yukata (which we learned how to fold professionally. Kin did Shinji's obi and I helped her with the yukata.) Kin wasn't going to the Con just yet because she wanted to finish Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club. So Shinji and I went to the Anime Human Chess Match. We came in about 15 to 20 minutes late. But from what we saw, it was great.
The Cast for the Anime Human Chess Match was as followed:
From The Vision of Escaflowne, Dilandau, Folken, Eriya, and Naria
From Final Fanatsy VII, Cid Highwind, Vincent Valentine, Yuffie Kisaragi, Sephiroth and Cloud
From King of Fighters, Terry Bogard
From Vampire Hunter D, D
From Rurouni Kenshin, Himura Kenshin
From Devil May Cry, Dante
From Soul Calibur, Kilik, Xianghua, and Cervantes
From Revolutionary Girl Utena, Utena
From Super Mario Bros., Mario and Luigi
From Akira, Shotarou Kaneda
From Nausica¨a; of the Valley of the Wind, Nausicaa
From Castlevania Chronicals, Simon Belmont
From Slayers, Gourry Gabriev, and Lina Inverse
From Legend of Zelda, Link and Zelda
From Ranma 1/2, Ryoga and Akane
From Street Fighter 3, Chun-Li and Cammy
From Metroid, Samus Aran
From Bleach, Rukia Kuchiki and Ichigo Kurosaki
From Metal Gear Solid, Snake
From Prince of Persia, Prince
From Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask
Sailor Moon tripped in her opening. Folken had move Dilandau and Eriya and Naria. Folken had the Sisters (Naria and Eriya) moved so that they could molest him. Lina moved herself and when Lina and Folken attacked they said, "Clear MY board!" Kaneda fought Mario, and stole Mario's lead pipe. Snake assassinated Luigi and stole his square. Someone noticed but nobody said anything. When Kaneda and Cid fought, Kaneda was going to 'set the mood' so he snapped his fingers and played crappy music. Cid said "What the hell?" and changed it. Kaneda argued and Link got in the middle yelling, "HEY!" and changed it to a suitable battle theme. Cid and Kaneda went at it insulting each other. Kaneda called Cid and old man, Cid told Kaneda he'd been kicking more ass when Kaneda was in dipers. Then Kaneda said "Do you want me to make you acessable?" and Cid replied, "Not as acessible as your mom!" Some where in between the fight, they switched weapons. Cid won. Dante, whenever he moved everyone cheered. Dante fought Ichigo. Dante was totally kicking ass, Ichigo gained a little ground. But eventually Rukia sensed a hollow and the both of them ran to fight it. Everyone was like WTF. Xianghua fought Utena and won. And then gave the rose to Kilik. Everyone cooed. Kilik fought Ryoga. Ryoga threw the umbrella but Kilik wasn't strong enough and Kilik fell. Kilik kicked major ass. He knew his moves. But eventually, Ryoga picked up Kenshin and threw him at Kilik. Snake fought Kenshin and Kenshin cut his gun in half. Then he cut his knife in half. Snake said, "That was my favorite knife!!!" They continued battling and Snake called that chick. She answered, "Hey Snake what can I do for you?" "Do you have any information on Samurai?" "Samurai? I don't think so. Why? You thinking sushi?" "No, I'm pretty sure it's a samurai." "Sorry, this book only has animals in it." "Oh. So, seen good moives lately?" "Shouldn't you be doing something more important right now?" "Oh... Right..." and then they resumed fighting. Kenshin kicked his ass and he said, "I didn't come here to die," and walked off. Samus was defeated by Lina. Eventually Cervantes came out of nowhere and kicked almost everyone's ass. He started with Sailor Moon who not only got her ass kicked by him, but Tuxedo Mask tried to come to her rescue and was shot. Then she was shot four times. They even had some security ninja that tried and it went nowhere. Cervantes took over the board as king and Terry was kick out. But then Mr. MetroCon (the King of the Anime side) invited Terry to fight for his side. Chun-Li thought Terry was a traitor so they eventually fought; Chun-Li lost. Cammy was knocked out by a bystander. Dilandau killed Gourry for his sword. When Yuffie defeated Mario, she stole his hat and hammer. When Zelda got bitch slapped, Link came to defend her. Link died and DIDN'T use a fairy even though everyone called out for him to do so. Prince fought the Sisters and he reversed time and slowed it down and the actors did SUCH a good job of being slow and remembering their moves backwards. Cervantes was taken out by someone and replaced with Sephiroth. Cloud came out when Sephiroth tried to kill Zelda Airth style, to kick his ass but failed. So whom ever was left of Cervantes' reign was wiped out by Sephiroth, except for Terry. So Sephiroth was kicking everyone's ass when Mr. MetroCon came out of nowhere and used "Knights of the Releam" and defeated Sephiroth. Terry came out and said, "How did you know how to do that?" Mr. MetroCon reached into the box labled Materia and pulled out a book. "Player's Guide," he said. In the end, Video Games are coming back to Metro.
After the Chess Match, we went to the hotel to check up on Kin. We thought that when we arrived she'd be doing back flips to finish the costume, but when we entered she was ironing the jacket and said, "Hey, I just finished." So she got dressed and looked absolutely AMAZING! She was the best Tamaki EVER! So we took off once more and when we arrived, we went to the Cosplay Contest. But without obsticals. She really was the best Tamaki ever becuase she kept getting stopped for pictures. We made it all the way up to the ballroom and we must have taken over ten pictures.
The Cosplay Contest was actually really cool because the contestants had to come up with a skit. The first skit we saw and liked was a Death Note skit about L, Light and Misa taking over the world with Keyblades. It was very clever and thoughtout. The second skit we really, really liked was a Naruto one about the internet. Naruto found deviantArt and searched for his fanart. Then he ran off screaming about how him and Sasuke never did those things. Kakashi and Sakura, who explained the internet to him, decided to search for their own fanart and found them doing hentai stuff. They dropped the laptop and didn't face each other. Kakashi coughed. Then they turned around and went at it like rabbid monkeys. Another one we rather liked was a KH2 skit with Sora, Riku, Roxas, and Alex. It started off with Sora by himself talking about how wonderful the PS3 was. Axel comes on stage and tells him off, saying the XBox 360 is the best. They get into an arguement and Roxas appears saying not to argue. "Tell him, Roxas, how the PS3 is better than any console!" "No Roxas, its the PS3!" "Roxas is going to agree with me because he's my other half!" "No! He's going to agree with me because he's my boyfr--" Roxas clamps Axel's mouth shut. Everyone looks and Roxas. Roxas says, "I'm sorry guys but I can't agree with either of you two." "What!" Axel says, "What about the time when we were playing Resident Evil 3 and you got so scared you jumped right into my arms? It was the birth of our--" Axel gets shut up again. Roxas says, "I'm sorry guys, but the best console isn't the PS3 or the XBox 360. It's the Wii." Axel responds, "You can play with my Wii anytime, Roxas." And they walk off. Riku then comes out saying, "If it worked for Axel and Roxas, maybe it'll work for Sora and I." and dashes off to find Sora.
There was a really pretty skit that was based on an original idea. It had a Japanese-dressed woman who may have been a demon spirit, a Korean-dressed warrior who was enraptured by her, and a Chinese-based dragon who wanted to attack the woman but ended up befriending her. It was almost like a kabuki; there was no sounds aside from what sound like a shamisen and taiko drum(s). It was very moving and pretty. The won one of the awards. Then there was THE Pokemon skit. It was abolutely FANTASTIC. There was Ash, Misty, and Brock. Misty was played by a guy whom acted very gay. They had a life-size Pikachu with them. So they get on the stage and on the other side of the stage, a Koffing and Arbok enter. Ash says, "Look! A Koffing and Arbok! Let's capture them!" So he runs over to them and throws a pokeball. "Go pokeball!" -Nothing happens- "Go pokeball!" -he tries again, nothing happens- "Go pokeball!" -once more, nothing happens- The Misty said in a very 'I'm-not-a-guy-what-are-you-talking-about-voice' "I told you before, you have to weaken it first. Go Blastoist!" A Blastoist comes on stage. "Use Water Gun!" The life-size Blastoist pulls out a water gun and starts firing it at the Koffing and Arbok. Brock says, "Quick! While it has some water on it, use Pikachu!" Ash says, "Pikachu! Use Thundershock!" The Pikachu goes to the front and pulls out a flashlight to shine it on Koffing and Arbok. Then Ash catches them, and that's it.
After the Cosplay Contest, Kin wanted to go to the Dollfie Panal to get her doll restrung. On the way I met my friend Matt. She decided to stay at the panel and I went with Shinji to the Para Para Panel where we met up with Shinbo and Hairo. The Para Para Panel ended just as we got there and they started a Combat Ready Weapon Panel. I like weapons so I stayed with Shinbo while Shinji said she'd walk around. The panel talked about how to identify good and bad combat ready weapons. They said that for a katana, it should have some bend to it; it should be able to bend without staying bent. Its hilt should also be proportional to its blade. I didn't really pay much attention to what the good metals to use were because, quite frankly, it was all rather complicated; something about the number of the metal or the carbon value. Anyways, what I liked was the 1st part because my father made my brother and I swords and it actually followed what the most important conditions were. The only thing that was intriguing was that under good metals to use, the guy didn't list aluminum. Aluminum is what my father used to make my brother's and mines swords. I asked him about it afterwards and the guy thought it was a very clever, well put together way of making a sword.
After that Shinbo and I decided to go find Shinji, Kin and Hairo. The closest up escalator wasn't running but the down one was. Shinbo asked me if I was up for the challenge. I said yep. We began running up the down escalator. I had Shinbo's sneakered feet in my perifreal vision. Everything was going just fine until he moved to the other side of the escalator. I had been keeping up a good pace and didn't want to lose it so I looked up to see why he moved, found a girl almost infront of me, and slipped on the edge of one of the steps. Damn, did it hurt. But it only felt like a scratch. So I ran up the rest of the escalator, Shinbo helping me at the top, and he asked me if I was okay. I said sure because I thought so. It was just a scratch. As we started to walk I thought about how the pain in my foot hadn't subsided yet and how interesting it was that a mere scratch still hurt. When we stopped at a stall, I checked out my foot and found skin sticking out and blood pouring out of the cuts. I put my foot down and said, "Uh-oh..." "What?" Shinbo asked. "I think I shredded my foot when I slipped." "No way... Let me see." "I don't think you want to..." "I think I have to." So I showed him and he looked up at me wincing. "I think we should go to the bathroom and clean it up." "Okay." So we walked out of the booths and asked some people for band-aids. No one had any. But we did find some blue tape. So Shinbo borrowed it. We got to the stairs that led to the bathrooms and I started going up them carefully. But Shinbo wanted to carry me, so he did. We manuvered through the crowd of people and made it to the unisex bathroom. I managed to get blood on the floor when I got down and went to the bathroom to get some towels to hold against my foot to stop the bleeding until someone could take a look at it. As we left the bathroom, I got more blood on the floor and hobbled over to a chair so he could clean it up and tape the paper towels to my foot. After we managed that, we made it down the stairs and escalator again to find the first aid station. As it turned out, we needed to go the front desk to called for first aid. So we went and did that and the lady called the paramedics. I told her it wasn't that serious and she said that's what they do. I asked her if they were going to call an ambulence because it wasn't that serious and she said that they were on site. So a couple of minutes later, A guy came wheeling a first kit. He undid the paper towel bandage and cleaned up the cuts (there were six). He disinfected it with Hydrogen Peroxide and slapped some bandages in place, holding them down with strong tape.
Meanwhile, Shinji and Kin had found me and asked me, "Where were you? We were looking all over for you!" I proptly showed her my now bandaged foot and explained what happened. The paramedic filled out an accident report even though I told him it was my fault and we were off to a Scott McNeil Interview Panel. The chick asked a lot of frequently asked questions. After the interview, Shinbo, Shinji and I wrote Scott McNeil a crack song. Shinbo had never met Scott before and thought he was the coolest thing ever. So he wanted to write a song because Scott was a musican and all. So the song went like this:
I met Scott McNeil
He made me a deal
He'd give me some cheese
If I tore off all his sleeves
Scott McNeil (Scott McNeil)
That's the deal (That's the deal)
So Take off that shirt
Cause if you don't... (if you don't)
It's gonna hurt (gonna hurt)
Scott McNeil (Scott McNeil)

After we sung the song, we all gave him hugs and took our pictures with him for the second time. After his panel, we decided to walk around a bit to kill time until we could go to the Afternoon with the Host Club. When we finally did get there, it sucked, so we left and went back to our hotel to change for the rave. I dressed in my outfit for Sunday, which was a purple tank-top-like top and a black sorta mini skirt with lots of purple acessories. I managed to get into my black leather sandals. Kin wore a Nippon shirt and white slacks. Shinji wore a black skin-tight tee and blue plaid shorts. Shinbo, who came to our hotel room to escort us, wore a black and white striped shirt and matching arm-warmers with a pair of black jeans.
When we got back we were a little late because of our escapade with the Host Club so we didn't have to wait. While we were in there, I met up with Matt again and everyone wanted to go to the congo line, which I couldn't do because of my foot. So Matt and I went outside to catch up because I hadn't seen him in over a year. After we were done, I went back inside to my friends and found Xandra and Hairo had joined our little lost group. So I joined in their circle and we danced awesome! I think I had a better time at that rave then I did at Firday night's rave. We stayed until the very end. Then we all filed out and walked over to some benchs to hang for a bit. We met the hot guy that played Simon Belmont in the chess match and I impressed him with my knowlegde of swords and fighting. And once we were all good and tired, we made our way back to our hotel rooms. Shinbo and Hairo walked us to the lobby. Then, after hugs, we went to our room and each of us took showers. I flooded the bathroom floor because I didn't want to get my damaged foot wet and suceeded at the cost of the water running down my leg and heel out the tub and on the floor. Then, because I was the last to get ready for bed, we conked.
Sunday
Sunday was the last day. We were all really sad about it being the last day, espcially since we had to check out in the morning and were leaving at 4. We did just that. We packed up all our stuff in the morning and checked out, putting all our stuff in the trunk. Shinbo and Hairo had already done thatso they met us up in our room. Once we were done with check out and we knew when we were leaving, we set out for the convention. We all wore normal clothes. Because Kin hadn't seen it the day before, we went to see the Chess Match again. After the Chess Match we went to the dealer room and made sure we didn't leave anything out. I wanted to pick uo something for my brother, Ryuu. I had the idea to buy him a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess wallscroll. But, as it turned out, they sold out on the first day and there had only been five of them in stock. So I had the brillant idea to go into the gaming room and ask the gamers if anyone bought it. If they had, I was going to pay them double. Well, Shinbo went with me and told me straight up: "I don't think any gamer in his right mind would sell it back to you." I said, "But I'm paying them double. And I'm a pretty girl! Gamers are suckers for pretty girls!" He still didn't think so and in the end, we couldn't find anyone. So I went back to the dealer deciding I was going to buy him the one from Ocarina of Time with Link on Epona's back in front of a sunset. Not as cool but still something. Well, just as I got there, they sold out of that. I was so forlorn but Shinbo kept helping me look and eventually he found a Majora's Mask wallscroll, LAST ONE. It didn't even have a lable. I bought and thanked him so much, I kissed him square on the cheek.
After Kin and Shinji decided they were done in the dealer room too, we went to go find Scott to say goodbye and see ya next time. We found him eating lunch on a bench outside. It looked like Quizzno's. We said, "Hey Scott! We're so not happy to say, we're leaving." He looked like he was gonna cry. Scott was so cool like that. He had remember me and now I was sure he had remembered Shinji and Shinbo. He took another bite and noticed my foot. "What happened?" "I shredded my foot in the escalator." and told him the story. The girl he was with looked at me and even told me, "Wow, that was stupid." So he finished his bite and put down his sandwich and gave us all hugs. He told us to come back next year to see him and he personally told me not to kill myself or injure myself so I could. We were all pretty sad at having to leave HIM. We told him we definatly would and said farewell. And then we left. We got out of the convention center and all of us (8 total) went to Wendy's for dinner. I had my Cheeseburger and small fries, plus a small chocolate frosty. Everyone else order their own. Shinbo and his group followed our group out of town and eventually they had to stop for gas. We caught up eventually but they had to stop again; they were really low. And it was a very tiring ride home. I was torn between happy and sad when I got back to my house. But there I was, home sweet home.
And that was my MetroCon '07 trip.
THE END.
