Korea Drama Series

After having some discussion in one forum, I decided to buy My Love Patzzi vcd than Glass Shoes. NYS (the forum moderator) gave me a useful advice: Both drama has a bad ending so it is now for you to choose : the sappy drama (Glass Shoes) or the comedy one (My Love Patzzi). Well I chose the last one and it turned right. This drama is funny. The story focused on Yang Song Er (Jang Nara, Successful Story of Bright Girl), known as a rude girl but deep down she has a good heart. She has a friend, the angel face Yu Xi Nuan (Hong Eun Hee) who always stabs her from the back. Their relationship didn't go well because the men crushed by Song Er always end up with Xi Nuan.Then the fate changed when 'accidentally' Song Er saved the life of Chen Jun (Kim Jae Won, Romance), the son of the amusement park's owner. Chen Jun really likes Song Er for the way she is and clearly stated that he didn't use Song Er to be closer to Xi Nuan. To win her heart, he must compete with Song Er's puppy love, Xian Chen (Kim Rae Won) who's in love with Song Er too but can't show his feeling due to his health condition. So, who's gonna get the cinderella Song Er?
At first episode, when I saw Kim Jae Won I thought to myself : What a handsome guy! Song Er must choose him! Have gone 13 episodes, I change my mind. Kim Rae Won deserves it because his character suits to Song Er. But the last episode is really dissapointing. I don't know what has happened to the producer head. How come he destroyed  the good story with such a bad ending. The rumours says the ending shouldn't be like that but because there's a conflict between some players, the director decided to cut the show.

There's a lot funny scenes on this drama. One of my favorite when Song Er watch a soap opera and imagine herself as its main player. It's so funny. And the story of the supporting role aka the relationship between San Lie and You Li is cute too. I've captured some pictures of this drama. To view theme, please click here.

Movie in March

It was Wednesday afternoon when I had lots of work to be done, so I thought I'd work overtime. Then my cellphone rang, it was Ika. She said, 'Sis, we're in Djakarta Theatre now, queueing for Daredevil, would you like us to buy you one ticket?" Having some thoughts for a while I decided to ignore my job and went with them. Well, it's a mistake and I realized that after I watch that almost two hours movie.

Ben Affleck did look good eventough he's blind there. But it didn't help. The story that is too dark, too much violent and too many impossible scenes. It should be accepted because this movie adapted from comics, but hey.. can they make it more realistic? There are too many questions in my head during the show. Among them are :
1. Where's the Electra girl? Is she dead? Or just dissapeared.
2. Bullseye already knew Matt's weakness but he didn't attacked him during the extreem loud sound. How come he became so stupid?
I think those questions will be answered in Daredevil 2. Yes, there must be the sequel because Bullseye haven't died yet and Kingspin yelled at his arrestment: "It's not over!"

Above all, the soundtrack sounds good. There are two songs I like: Bring me to life - Evanescence and For you - The Calling.

Wanna know the brief synopsis? Let's check it from Yahoo Movies : it is the story of Matt Murdock, son of a boxer who gets killed by petty criminals for refusing to take a dive. This drives young Matt to fight crime, despite a childhood accident that robbed him of his sight. That same accident, however, also granted him exceptionally advanced senses of hearing, touch, taste and smell, as well as providing him with a strange sort of mental radar that helps to compensate for his lack of vision. After training hard in the martial arts, as well as excelling in law school, Murdock becomes a lawyer by day and a vigilante calling himself Daredevil by night.

    "Things happen for a reason," said Sara Thomas (Kate Beckinsale), a woman who really believes in destiny. When she met an interesting guy named Jonathan Trager (John Cusack) at the Bloomingdale christmas sale, Sara was very impressed that she invited him for a drink in restaurant called Serendipity. Eventough they both had lovers, Sara and John couldn't resist the chemistry that happened between them. But Sara with her unusual  faith told Jonathan, "If we're meant to meet again, we will." She asked him to write his last name and phone number on a $5 and spent it directly buying a novel titled Love in the Time of Cholera. She wrote the same thing on the first page of the novel and sold it to the nearest bookstore. If each of them found the book or the money, then they're meant to be together.

      Will the faith lead them to each other? It was easy to guess. You'll find the answer at the end of this movie.

Suggestion:
It has a light topic and quite amusing. So it's wise to rent the vcd instead of going to cinema.

    This movie is based on the most popular classic book written in 1954 by J. R. R. Tolkien. Full of magnificent special effect, this movie is predicted to get an academy award winner for best visualization category. Lord of the Rings trilogy tell us about war against evil force represented by Dark Lord Sauron. The first part titled Fellowship of the Rings will tell us about A Ring.

      A young hobbit named Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) inherited a ring from his uncle Bilbo Baggins, the most popular hobbit in Shire. After he acknowledged the power of the this ring, Frodo tried to destroy it. But the ring must be destroyed in a place it was first made, Mordor.

     So Frodo began his journey to Mordor, accompanied by his hobbit fellows Sam, Pippin and Merry; the elves Arwen (Liv Tyler) and Lord Elrond; the knights Lord Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, and Gimli; and Gandalf (Ian McKellen) the wizard. Together they formed a fellowship of the rings to defeat Lord Sauron's plan.

Suggestion:
You must read the book, Fellowship of the Rings to understand the movie completely. Otherwise you should concentrate and watch very carefully the movie so you'll get a better understanding. Don't be disappointed by the end of the movie 'coz it's only the first part of Lord of the Rings trilogy. You can download the book here on this site, on the library section.

       First you might think the word Cinta comes from love, but it's not exactly. Cinta is a girl name played by Indonesian young star Dian Sastro (previously played Dayu in Pasir Berbisik). Illustrated by music from Melly dan Anto Hoed, Ada Apa Dengan Cinta is a teen movie, one rare genre that could happen to Indonesian cinema.

        The story focused on Cinta, the most popular girl in a high school, a school magazine journalist, and loves poetry. Just like the other teenage girl, Cinta had a gang consists of five girls with different personalities. There is funny girl named Milly (Sissy Priscillia), the tomboy Karmen (Adinia Wirasti), the sensitive Alya (Ladya Cheryll), and the fashionably dressed Maura (Titi Kamal). Uncommonly things started countering her life since she met Rangga, a misterious boy. It had changed Cinta's life ever since.

Suggestion :
Be prepared for a long queue line.

   Another movie which's based on a novel by Nicholas Spark. Titled the same as the book, A Walk To Remember gets the name from the wedding. In the book an excerpt says, " It was, I remember thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember".

      The book was mainly about Landon Carter (Shane West), the relationships he went through with Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), and how those relationships affected Landon Carter’s other relationships with friends and family.  While Landon Carter is working on the play with Jamie Sullivan, Landon Carter needs a date for the homecoming dance. It just so happens that he asks Jamie Sullivan.  Landon Carter starts walking Jamie Sullivan to her house since she asks him to.  

       After they had been working on the play for a while, they go to the orphanage, where she usually is anyway because she wants to help them as much as she can, to see if they could perform the play for the orphans. The orphanage director declines the offer. Landon Carter spends more and more time with Jamie Sullivan and decides that he loves her. They perform the play which was a hit.  The building was packed; there were people standing against the walls. When Jamie Sullivan came out onto the stage, Landon Carter thought that she was just beautiful. Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter started dating not too long after the performance.

      After a few months since they started going out, Jamie Sullivan tells Landon Carter that she was dying. Jamie Sullivan had leukemia. She had known it since the summer before. She kept on getting worse.  One day Landon Carter decided that he wanted to marry Jamie Sullivan. Everyone tried to talk to him out of it, but they had no effect. On March 12, 1959, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan were married. Jamie Sullivan’s father was the one who married them.

Please don't read the book before you see the movie.
Since it's a romantic movie, some details excluded or changed might be annoying. The same thing that happened to previous Nicholas Spark "a book comes to movie" Message In a Bottle.
