Poormans Concerts

In case you are unfamiliar with the concept, a Poorman's Concert was designed to feature an artist or band in a two and half hour show. This here page lists the bands we have featured (and will be featuring) as part of KUMM's Poorman's Concerts.

December 2nd, 2001: The Doors

"We put this show together in our first semester of broadcasting with KUMM. Being a bit inexperineced yet, we had a bit of trouble in the beginning of the show, but spun some good sets of classic Doors music. We also mixed in a little bit of sketch comedy (as is our want) and information about the band, inspirations, and lyrics. Overall, Steve and I agreed that this show is one of the best that we have ever placed on the airwaves." -Jon Nelson

Last Week of Classes, Spring Semester 2002

"While I wouldn't normally consider this a Poorman's Show, we did do a recap of our successful radio play The Continuing Adventrues of Jim Spitoonick: Private Eye. Not only did we do all 12(?) episodes of Jim, but we ended the year on a bang. Definately a great listen!" -Jon Nelson

November, 2002: Dropkick Murphys

"These guys rock. Not only do they combine the sounds of classic irish drinking songs with skinhead rock, but they do it **** well. It was a lively, upbeat selection of music! I would have to admit that it got a bit tiring after ~2 hours, it was worth featuring a great sounding band." -Jon Nelson
