Chris and Lucinda Kuhlmann
Henry Diedrick Christian Kuhlmann (Uncle Chris) was
born in Germany on March 24, 1872. He came to America with his
parents at the age of 16. He spent a few years with his family
north of Humboldt, NE where he worked as a farm laboror. Later he
moved to Smith County Kansas with his parents. He lived 1/2 mile
south of St. John's Lutheran Church, 3 miles S.E. of Athol, KS.
Chris and Lucinda Klinzmann were married on May 13, 1898. Lucinda
was born on April 3, 1876 in Ohio and moved with her family in a
covered wagon to Smith County. In 1904 they purchased a farm 5
miles south of Athol. Lucinda died in child birth March 11, 1920.
Chris died on February 5, 1941. They had 11 children.
- Lidia Maria Noll born Sept. 25 1899 -- died Aug.
16 1966. Married Sept. 1, 1927 to Jacob Noll, born Febr.
16, 1887 -- died Oct. 28, 1969. They had no cildren. Jake
and Lidia farmed near Kirby, WY.
- Albert Dietrich Heinrich Kuhlmann born Oct. 30,
1901--died June 15, 1903--age 2.
- Louie Kuhlmann born Sept.
17, 1903 -- died July 6, 1986. .
- Lena Kirchhoff born May
21, 1905 -- died Jan. 8, 1990.
- Dora Sindt born July 31,
1907 -- died Sept. 11, 1985.
- Maria Dorette Anna McCheerey born Feb. 27, 1911 --
died July 2, 1932.On Nov. 2, 1928 Marie was married to
Ernest McCheerey.
