Gracie
Here is the beautiful Gracie Lou.  We adopted her on June 29th, 2001, at around a year old.    She is a Border Collie/ Golden retriever cross (At least we think).
Gracie was scheduled to be euthanized the next day when I stopped by the shelter.  Lucky for her (luckier for me!) I happened to stop by that day and took her home.
Gracie likes to play fetch with tennis balls and her "tiger" which is  a stuffed tiger toy of her's.
Gracie is very smart and learns tricks and commands quickly.  To keep her from getting bored, I 'm coming up with other tricks for her to do.   Currently she can sit, stay, lay down, wave, shake, wave, dance, roll over, play dead, back up, leave it (used when I don't want her to play with something), fetch, drop it, kiss, and catch.  She has begun to catch flying frisbees and other toys in the air recently so it will be interesting to see how good she can get at it.
Gracie was brought into the veterinary clinic that I work at.  She was found wandering the streets.   She was moved to the local shelter so that more people would see her and possibly adopt her.
I stopped by the shelter one day to check on her and found out that they were going to put her down the next day.  I called my mom and brought her home that very day.
Gracie and I have a special connection.  I don't even know how to describe it.  It's like we know what each other are thinking and know why we think that way.

Gracie has a fun loving personality.  It is impossible to get mad at her or be in a bad mood around her.   She learned to give people the "eyes" when they are angry at her.  She ia always ready to do tricks or play fetch.   She loves all people, especially my younger cousins.

Gracie also loves to visit the lake.  She loves to play in the water and go in the boat.  She is a little afraid of being in the water without anything under her feet.   She has fallen off of the boat or dock before and then she swims over and climbs on the float with me.
Money will buy you a pretty good dog, but it won't buy the wag of his tail.
