Dixie
1985-2002

This is Dixie. She was born sometime in 1985 and died on May 2nd 2002. My uncle brought her to us when she was 6 months old. She was rescued from the shelter on her last day. She was sheduled to be put down! Lucky for us, my uncle saved her.

We think that she was a cocker spaniel and golden retriever cross. When we first brought her home it was very evedent that she had been abused. She would still shy away if you raised your hand fast above her face : ( She was great at hunting in her younger years. She still loved to go in the woods and root around for sutff as she got older..
   She was great with young children. She put up with three growing kids climbing all over her. I think all children should have the privlege of growing up with a dog like her.
    Dixie will always have a special place in my heart. She was the sweetest, smartest dog I know.
