The weapon of choice for arguably the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, the BlasTech EE-3 rifle found infamy in the hands of Boba Fett. Boba Fett's EE-3 was slightly modified from the original version created by BlasTech. He turned his weapon into a sawed-off version of the standard rifle, and added a detachable stock so it could be fired like a blaster pistol. He chose the EE-3 over the blasters used by his 'father', Jango Fett, as he wanted something more brutal and powerful over the elegant WESTAR-34 pistol. In order to ensure he could outgun any bounty should a hunt turn into a firefight, Boba modified the rifle's Xciter and actuating blaster module, to increase the weapon's destructive power. For long-distance shots, he added a high-power scope with a scom-link to the target viewer in his helmet. Thus, he didn't need to carry a sniper rifle around with him: only his versatile EE-3. The standard BlasTech model actually came in two versions: one with a folding stock and one with a fixed stock. The folding stock version was only a little larger than the other, though as Boba Fett used the fixed stock version, it proved to be the more popular of the two. The rifle's power pack provided enough power for fifty shots, and was housed inside the barrel, above the trigger. After Fett captured Han Solo on Bespin, he upgraded his rifle with a modified barrel and vented hand-grips. However, his modifications were not needed for long: a year later, Boba's EE-3 was destroyed by Luke Skywalker during the rescue of Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. Without his preferred blaster at hand, the tables quickly turned on Fett, and he soon found himself falling straight into the Great Pit of Carkoon... |
