The Mitrinomon Z-6 jetpack earned fame as being the
jetpack used by the legendary bounty hunters Jango
and Boba Fett. However, the Fetts seemed to have
poor luck with their jetpacks, which almost cost them
their lives.
The Mitrinomon Z-6 was a large jetpack compared
to some, though it was also more heavily armoured.
The large fire-bore missile atop the jetpack proved
to be a valuable feature, as did the thrust vectoring
nozzles below. Numerous missiles could fit into the
Z-6, including a concussion missile and a grappling
missile. The Fetts erred towards the more explosive
models.
Despite the Z-6's armour, they were not immune to damage. During a fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Kamino, Jango Fett's jetpack shot off his back after a heavy fall. It spun out of control and exploded against a pillar. Similarly, Boba Fett's jetpack malfunctioned after an impact, though the consequences were far more dire for Boba. The partially-blinded Han Solo swung at Fett while the bounty hunter attempted to shoot down Luke Skywalker in a battle above the Pit of Carkoon. Solo's spear hit Fett's jetpack, igniting it and sending Fett flying. He hit Jabba the Hutt's sail barge and landed in the Sarlacc pit. Though the pack had been damaged, Fett was still able to use it to help blast his way out of the pit some time after. |
