Tipoca was influenced by offshore oil derricks, though the interior - which was meant to convey a sterile atmosphere - was designed with the stark colours of the stormtroopers, and George Lucas's earlier film, THX-1138, in mind

The brilliant-white corridors of Tipoca City were a stark
contrast to the dull gray stormclouds outside, but the
Kaminoans were perfectly at home in their dazzling,
pristine city.

Though to the Kaminoans, Tipoca City was filled with
colour; their large eyes allowed them to see in the ultra-
violet spectrum, and created patterned walls in their cities
that would appear plain and white to non-Kaminoan
visitors. And though such visitors were rare on Kamino,
Tipoca City was well-suited to recieving them. Kamino
Space Control towers and sturdy landing platforms were
dotted around the domed city, enabling Kaminoan tour guides to welcome guests upon arrival.

The saucer-shaped buildings that made up Tipoca City rested on giant stilts that reached down to the ocean floor, where the Kaminoans had once lived, before the Great Flood. The domed style of all Kamino's cities meant that the constant rains of the planet would flow down into the ocean from the slopes of the city roofs. The city sprawled across 150 kilometers of the planet's western equator, made up of various domed buildings linked by passageways for easy access across Tipoca City.

Built primarily as a home for the Kaminoans, Tipoca City also featured extensive cloning facilities and laboratories as well as apartments, ameneties and offices. The cloning complexes took up much of the interior of the city, comprised of various military training areas, padade grounds and the growth chambers themselves. The rest of the city was made up of thousands of sleeping quarters encircling vast power cores and reactors, or offices for project coordinators and the Prime Minister himself. These rooms were all designed to suit the Kaminoan's ultra-violet view, so they all appeared stark and alien to human eyes.
