Though it remained an isolated and tranquil planet for
millennia, the majestic world of Dantooine hosted many
important events that helped shape the galaxy.

Dantooine was a beautiful world dominated by
sprawling grasslands and large oceans. Its terrain
made the planet shimmer from space, and its twin
moons provided beautiful moonlit nights on the surface.
There was little civilization on the planet; its native
Dantari were a primitive race who lived near to the
planet's oceans. The inner terrain of Dantooine's
continents was covered by thick patches of spiky blba
trees. Over the years, the planet attracted a handful of
colonists, who mostly lived in family estates dotted all
over the planet. A small spaceport was developed to handle Dantooine's minimal tourist trade.

In ancient times, Dantooine was the location of a Jedi training center run by Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. There, Exar Kun trained as a Jedi, though his anger often got the better of him during practice duels. Many years later, the Rebel Alliance created a base on Dantooine during the time of the Empire. However, it was soon abandoned before the location could be compromised. Dantooine later provided a safe haven for the relocated colonists of Eol Sha after the death of Palpatine, though their new civilization was obliterated in an attack by Admiral Daala. Following that attack came even worse. The Yuuzhan Vong took over Dantooine, who reformed it to serve their own needs.
