| Jagged Fel's early life was not the most straightforward of upbringings. His father was an ace Imperial pilot and his mother's brother was leader of Rogue Squadron; he was a Corellian brought up in Chiss space; and he became the boyfriend of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker's niece. Yet Jag kept a cool orderliness about him that showed up many of those around him. The son of Soontir Fel and Syal Antilles, Jag Fel was a ruggedly handsome young Corellian. He had pale green eyes, and was distinguished by a scar which ran from his right eye and over his skull. Save for the white hair over the scar, his head was covered with neat jet-black hair. Although Jag was a Corellian, he grew up among the Chiss, and was accepted as one of their own. Because of this, Jag always strove to meet their lofty expectations. Jag joined the Chiss Expansionary Defence Force, where he was became a skilled Clawcraft. pilot. He was deadly calm and serious in battle, knowing he couldn't afford to make mistakes that might cost him his life...or the lives of others in his squadron. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, Colonel Jagged Fel and Spike Squadron were part of the fleet assembled by Admiral Pellaeon to aid the New Republic. The skills of Jag and his pilots helped turn back the Yuuzhan Vong. Jag was later asked by his uncle, Wedge Antilles, to accompany the New Republic battle group. Spike Force fought in the Battle of Ithor, after which Jag decided to stay as a liason to Rogue Squadron, while two of his own squadrons reported back to Baron Soontir Fel. It was at this time Jag met Jaina Solo. After a series of missions to scout out yuuzhan Vong utilization of Ithor and other planets, Jag and Jaina spent time together on Hapes. The two grew close, causing confusion in Jaina, who now had two potential suitors; Jag and Kyp Durron. Jag wasn't sure if the pairing was suitable; he was well-organized and calm while Jaina had a headstrong nature. Still, they started a relationship, and both became part of the new rebellion planned by Wedge. Jag helped defend Borleias with the remnants of the New Republic, and later joined Twin Suns Squadron when Luke Skywalker gave Jaina command of his starfighter squadron. Jag and Jaina remained together through many missions, through a new Ssi-Ruuk crisis to the final days of the war. |
