MIDI-CHLORIANS
The Force is everywhere and everything; a mystical energy field created by all living things, binding the galaxy together and affording Jedi near-superhuman power. Yet without the microscopic midi-chlorians, there would be no Jedi, no life and no Force.
Midi-chlorians, which reside in all living cells, communicate directly with the Force, and thus enable a Jedi to learn of its will. They permeate every being's bloodstreams, either in high or low concentrations, depending if the being is Force-sensitive or not. Other Jedi can determine this through detection gear; blood samples can analyse midi-chlorian counts and pick out potential Jedi. It is then up to the finder to take the analysis further and present their find to the Jedi Council.
Midi-chlorians have been around since the beginning of time itself, though at the time of the Galactic Civil War, knowledge of its existance was thin - though it did indeed exist, as it always had, granting the galaxy the wonderous majesty and power of the Force. |
