About Sasines

The General Register of Sasines dates from the year 1617. Sasines are legal documents that record the transfer of ownership of a piece of land or a building through sale or inheritance. Sasine records will typically contain the names of the new and the previous owners, details of the property that is changing hands, and the price for that property.
