Le dix neuf octobre mil sept cent soixante-douze nous, prêtre soussigné, curé de l'isle aux coudres faisant les fonctions curiales dans la paroisse de L'abbaye St. paul après avoir publié trois Bans de mariage au prône de la messe paroissale pendant trois dimanches consecutives selon la coutume ordinaire entre Joseph Trucheon fils de defun Louis Trucheon et de defunte marie gratton ses père et mere veuf de marie terrien natif de la paroisse de la chenai dans le gou vernement de montréal; - et elizabeth Boivin fille de defun augustin Boivin et de marie reine Simar son pere et mere natif de l'abbaye St paul d'autre part, ne s'etant trouvé aucun empechement quelconque avons reçu leur mutuel consentement de mariage (?) de present et leur avons donné la Benédiction nuptiale avec les ceremonies prescrites par la Ste eglise notre mere en presence de Barthelemi Terrien son Beau pere, et de Joseph Terrien et d'augustin Boivin frere de la fille et de Joseph (?) son Beau frere les epoux ont declaré ne savoir signer de ce interpellé suivant l'ordre.

The nineteenth of October, seventeen hundred seventy-two, we, the undersigned parish priest of the Île aux Coudres, performing the priestly duties in the parish of Baie St-Paul, after having published three marriage bans during the sermon of the parish mass for three consecutive Sundays, according to the regular custom, between Joseph Truchon, son of the late Louis Truchon and of the late Marie Gratton, his father and mother, widower of Marie Terrien, a native of the parish of Lachenaie in the government of Montréal; - and Elisabeth Boivin, daughter of the late Augustin Boivin and of Marie Reine Simar(d), her father and mother, a native of Baie St-Paul, on the other side, not having found any ordinary impediment, have received their mutual consent to marriage (?) of present and have given them the nuptial benediction with the ceremonies prescribed by the Holy church, our mother, in the presence of Barthélemi Terrien, his father-in-law, and Joseph Terrien and Augustin Boivin, brother of the bride and Joseph (?), her brother-in-law. The bride and groom declared to not be able to sign their names, having been asked this according to the order.
