Message Retrieval

Do you read the KSRC forum via Yahoo? Do you find having to log in and everything else associated with this method a pain in the backside?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, why not set up your account so that you receive messages to the forum via email? Plus, you get the following benefits:
You are able to receive attachments.
You can reply to messages just by clicking on “Reply” in your email program.

If you want to know how to set this up, keep reading. If you run Outlook Express, I will also explain how to set it up so that all of the KSRC messages get sent to a seperate folder!!

1) Go to the KSRC forum site here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/KSRC/
2) In the top right hand corner, click on “Sign In” and sign in as per normal with your user name and password.
3) Look up towards the top right of the screen. You should now see an “Edit My Membership” option. Click on it.
4) Now, on this screen, there are serveral things you need to do. Firstly, under “Email Address”, set the option to the email address you want the messages to be sent to. If you want to use Outlook Express and have the messages sent to a KSRC folder, you’ll need to use your home email address. Add that address on the Add address link.
5) Under “Message Delivery”, make sure the green dot is in the “Individual emails” hole.
5) Click on “Save changes” and you’re all done!

Setting up a KSRC folder in Outlook Express

So, you should now be receiving KSRC messages via email. You may have them going to your Hotmail account, or to another web based email provider. However, if you want to be really cool, you can have them sent to your home account, and have them placed in a seperate KSRC folder, automagically, if you are running Outlook Express. Here’s how.

1) Open Outlook Express.
2) Click on Tools (on the menu bar), Message Rules and then Mail.
3) Click on “New”
4) In section 1. put a tick in the “Where subject line contains specific words” box.
5) In section 2. put a tick in the “Move it to the specified folder” box.
6) In section 3. click on the blue highlighted “contains specific words”.
7) Type in ksrc, click add, and click OK.
8) Click on the blue highlighted “specified”.
9) Click on “New Folder” on the right hand side.
10) Type inKSRC and click OK.
11) Find KSRC towards the bottom of the folder list, click it and press OK
12) Click OK and click OK again.
13) Hit send and receive.  Magic  :o)
