Ps 3
1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me.
2 Many there be which say of my soul, "There is no help for him in God".
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, & the lifter up of mine head.
verse 1, Here it seems the psalmist is saying "Lord...look at these folks who trouble me! There are so many of them against me!"
verse2, So many of them doubt that God can help the psalmist. They think God can't help them so, he can't help the psalmist either.
verse 3, But, the psalmist is saying..."Wanna bet?" The Lord is his shield. He's the one that holds him high & shelters him from total destruction. The one who makes him prosper. Even with so many against him. God is the fortress for the psalmist.
