| Meagan was born on June 7,
1988 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Growing up, Meagan was always interested
in many activities, at one point belonging to brownies, the school
choir, taking horse back riding lessons, and a local soccer league at
the same time.
Around the age of 8 ½, Meagan was invited to a friend’s birthday party at the Mt. Clemens Ice Arena. After the party Meagan asked her parents if she could take skating lessons, and was signed up for the Learn to Skate program. After about one year of lessons, sometimes passing two levels at a time, Meagan picked up her first private coach, Pam Burr. Pam taught Meagan may great things, but after starting her on the axel, she realized that Meagan should be in a more suited training environment. Pam talked to Diana Ronayne at the Ann Arbor Competition that year, and Diana told her that she would take a look at her. |

Meagan joined the St. Clair
Shores Figure Skating Club as a pre-preliminary skater in the summer of
1998, being coached by both Pam, and Diana's daughter Lindsay, who was
home from college for the summer.
In the fall of 1998, Meagan attended her first competition in Lansing earning a bronze medal, as a pre-preliminary skater. She was hooked. Since she started taking lessons, all she ever wanted to do was compete. When Lindsay went back to school in the fall, Meagan picked up Diana as her coach, and started working on her double jumps. Due to scheduling conflicts, Meagan was not able to continue to use Pam as a coach, but continued to work with Diana and her partner Julie Berlin. In the summer of 1999, Diana left to take a position as director at the Broadmoore Figure Skating Club in Colorado. After Patrick O’Neil was hired as the Director of Figure Skating, Meagan picked him up as her second coach. |
| In the fall of 1999, Meagan
attended her first Regionals competition as a juvenile skater, in
Huntsville, Alabama, placing 9th in the initial rounds.
The following year Meagan continued to compete as a juvenile skater, and won her first final rounds at the Lansing competition. Competing at the 2001 Regionals, Meagan placed 1st in the initial rounds, 3rd in the qualifying round, and 7th in the final round. After the 2003 Regionals, Meagan moved up to the Novice level, where she continued to compete and is working on her double axel and triple jumps. The 2003 and 2004 seasons found Meagan
with a number of injuries including a broken fibula, tendonitis, and the
need for surgery to correct a soft corn problem. She continued to train
and compete through this at the Novice level. |

In the spring of 2004, Meagan moved along with her coach Julie Berlin to the Detroit
Skate Club where she continues to train hard and develop great
friendships. In the summer of 2004 Meagan picked up Jodie Balogh-Tasich as
her second coach and choreographer. As a junior in High School in 2004, Meagan was inducted into the National Honor Society. During the winter of 2005 she also picked up Seth Chafetz to start working on her dance tests. |

Brittany Karlon and Dan Palmari they placed 1st in their district, and
1st in the State!

| Meagan trains 6 days
a week, approximately 3-4 hours a day on both Free style and Dance,
in addition to maintaining an A-B average including AP level
classes. Meagan's goals this year include qualifying for Sectionals and hopefully her first trip to US Nationals. Her long term goals include becoming a National and International competitor, and one day becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. |
