Kingsville has approximately 26,000 residents. It is 397 miles from the international gateway cities of Dallas (less than two hours by air) and Houston (232 miles and about one hour by air); and from the following Texas cities: San Antonio- 160 miles southeast, 220 miles south of the state capitol in Austin: 40 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, the nearest larger city; and 120 miles north of the border with Mexico.

The cheapest one is about $230. Efficiency is about $300 - $400 and 1 or 2 bedrooms are between $430 - $650.

Corpus Christi International Airport is located in Corpus Christi, which is around 50mile(North) away from Kingsville.  You can ask International Program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville for the shuttle service from airport to Kingsville.  You can also use Taxi service with $60.

Total enrollment averages about 6,000. (Ratio: Male-52% and Female-48%).
Each semester there are between 300-320 international students enrolled with an average of 45 countries being represented. Our faculty-to-student ratio  is 1-19.5. Among them, Korean students are about 12.

   ESTIMATE OF EXPENSES:

  • Tuition (Fees indicated are estimates)

Graduate Students: $2759.00 is the tuition and fees cost for 9 credit hours at non-resident rate. (International graduate students are required by immigration to be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester.)

Undergraduate Students: $3623.00--fees for 12 credit hours at non-resident rate. (International undergraduate students are required by immigration to be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.)

Students can register for additional credit hours; if you have the money to cover the tuition. If you are awarded a $1000 scholarship within your academic department, the tuition fees would be reduced to $815.00 for 9 credit hours (graduate) and $1031.00.

Tuition fees can be paid by cash, check, traveler’s checks, credit card (MasterCard or Visa), and bank drafts. Bank Drafts: If you are obtaining a bank draft from your home country for payment of tuition fees, it should be payable to Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Please note that ISS cannot deduct any amount from the bank draft to pay for insurance. If the bank draft is more than the actual tuition fees, you will receive a refund. It will take up to 14 days to receive the refund.

Books & Supplies: Approximately $250.00-$275.00 per semester 

Living Expenses:  If you choose to experience living on campus in a residence hall it will cost $1792.00 per semester. Please note that cooking is not allowed in the rooms. If you choose to live off campus and share an apartment with other students, it may cost you $200.00-$300.00 per month. This depends on the apartment you rent, the number of students sharing the apartment, the amount of food you eat, phone calls you make (especially to your family in your home country), and utilities (electricity payment).

Personal Expenses:  $975.00--per semester [personal items, clothing, items for the apartment, food, etc.]

Insurance:  The TAMU System insurance is $267.00 per semester. TAMUK requires all international students registering at our university to have insurance coverage for the full semester.
