NU AGAIN

There are a number of things I have discovered regarding a "possible" meaning for the Mark of the Beast mentioned in The Book Of Revelation, chapter 13, verses 16-18 [ The Living Bible ] :

" He required everyone -- great and small, rich and poor, slave and free -- to be tattooed with a certain mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could get a job or even buy in a store without the permit of that mark, which was either the name of the Creature or the code number of his name. Here is a puzzle that calls for careful thought to solve it. Let those who are able, interpret this code: the numerical values of the letters in his name add to 666!*

* 666, some manuscripts read "616."

I believe I have found that the Ophite sect is but a part of this puzzle. From all accounts I have uncovered the Ophite sect has all but vanished from modern-day history. There are two points about them that I find interesting :

1. The were involved with astrology. The Ophite sect was the namesake of the constellation Ophiuchus.

2. The sect originated in Egypt according to the data, which goes back to the 2^nd century A.D.

As I endeavored to research the Greek that John would have written The Book Of Revelation in; I found that over the years certain words and letters have been systematically eliminated, which would make it all but impossible to translate into a modern day equivalent. The following are examples of the letters / numbers that I uncovered :

1. Digamma = the letter F, which equals the sound W, which equals the number 6.

2. Koppa = is a letter shaped like a Q, which equals the number 90.

3. San (Sampi) = a letter that looks like the equation pi tilted at a right angle, which equals the number 900.

In light of these discarded letters which were also used as numbers I have discovered a number of other parallels which lead to Egypt also :

1. Nu - In Egyptian mythology, Nu refers to the primeval fluid or chaos out of which the world was created. Nu was personified by the ancient Egyptians as a God.

2. Apsu - Apsu was considered the God of the primeval waters, both above the Earth's surface and under the Earth's surface. Apsu was also associated with primordial chaos.

3. Tiamat (Tiamtu) - Tiamat is the wife of Apsu. Her emblem is the winged dragon (which could correlate with Revelation 12:3).

4. 616 (6+1+6=13) - The 13^th letter of the "revised" Greek alphabet is Nu. John said, "count the number of the Beast, it is the name of a man."

5. 666 (6+6+6=18) - 18 equals the letter E, which is expressed as Sigma, which is denoted by the letter S, which is the 18^th letter of the "revised" Greek alphabet.
